Humility and Power

Here is the true humility and the total power of Christ - displayed!

This shows that He alone in all creation is unique and was given the sole place of intermediary between God and mankind - as He did for us what we could never do for ourselves....
Read and heed, for as found in - Matthew 4:4 (NIV)

4) Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."  Matthew 4:4: But he answered and said, it is written.

The passage referred to, and cited, is in ( Deuteronomy 8:3 ) the manner of citing it is what was common and usual with the Jews; and is often to be met with in the Talmudic writings; who, when they produce any passage of scripture, say (bytkd) , "as it is written".

The meaning of this scripture is; as the body lives by bread, so the soul lives by the word of God, and doctrines of the Gospel; though this is a certain truth: or that man lives by obedience to the commands of God.   Because, as promised to the Israelite's in the wilderness, and then in the land of Canaan!  Yet God, in satisfying man's hunger, and in supporting and preserving his life, is not tied to bread only, and can make use of other means, in order to do whatever He pleases to answer these ends.  In this case by raining manna from heaven, which is mentioned in the passage cited; and therefore there was no occasion to change the nature of things, to turn stones into bread. Since that was not so absolutely necessary to the sustenance of human life, as that it could not be maintained without it.

Our Lord hereby expresses his strong faith and confidence in God - His Father, that he was able to support him, and would do it, though in a wilderness, and destitute of supply; whereby he overcame this temptation of Satan. Christ, in this, and some following citations, bears a testimony to, and establishes the authority of the sacred writings; and though he was full of the Holy Ghost, which makes them the rule of his conduct.  This ought to be observed against those, who, under a pretense of the Spirit, deny the scriptures to be the only rule of faith and practice; at the same time points out to us the safest and best method of opposing Satan's temptations; namely, by applying to, and making use of the word of God.

Luke 23:9 "Then he questioned with him in many words; but he answered him nothing."
Not only does Jesus' refusal to defend Himself show His humility, but His refraining from venting His wrath against the man who senselessly killed His friend who was the greatest of the Old Testament prophets (Mt. 11:11), also displays His humble nature.

Because of Christ's humility and obedience to the Father, God gave Him a name that is above every name in heaven, earth and under the earth.

There is no exemption for anyone or anything from coming under the Lordship of Jesus. He is Lord of ALL.

Jesus has not only been exalted above every "being" that has a name, but He is also highly exalted above anything else that can be named. If you can put a name on it, Jesus is above it. Sickness, poverty, depression, anger - everything has to bow its knee to the Lordship of Jesus.
Every knee of men, angels, and demons will bow and confess that Jesus is Lord.

All Those who have denied His existence will bow in worship. 

Those who have spent their lives rebelling His authority will finally bow in submission.



Every being from all ages will ultimately bow and worship Jesus. If we bow our knee to His Lordship now, we will enjoy a wonderful life here on earth, and an eternity in His blessings hereafter.

Those who deny His rightful claim to the Lordship of their lives will suffer for it in this life as well as in the next. They still will have to bow their knee to His authority, so there is nothing to gain and everything to lose if they refuse to make Jesus Lord of their life.

Case closed!
