8 medical reasons not to have an abortion that feminists don’t want you to hear

Abortion is such a hot button issue that the so-called “Women’s March” would not allow pro-life women to participate. Feminists frequently accuse conservative Christians of being anti-science, but here are eight medical – not moral – reasons why you should choose another option like adoption.  (As an adoptive parent, I can tell you that there are so many parents waiting desperately for a child to love and raise.)

1. Abortion increases a woman’s risk of future miscarriages by 60%A British scientific study examined six hundred and three women aged 18-55 and found that there was an increased risk of future miscarriages associated women who had previously had an abortion.

 2. Suicide rates among women who’ve aborted are six times higher than those who give birth
In Finland, researchers examined the relationship between women who’ve aborted and those who have given birth.  Their conclusion?

The low rate of deaths from external causes suggests the protective effect of childbirth, but the elevated risk after a terminated pregnancy needs to be recognized in the provision of health care and social services.

3. A high percentage of women having abortions have immediate, potentially life-threatening complications
Researchers  studied 2,458 first trimester abortions performed in a clinic in Vermont:

Procedures were performed by physician assistants and by physicians. Demographic information, medical history, and data relevant to the abortion were recorded. Both immediate and delayed (up to four weeks post-abortion) complications were noted. Direct follow-up four weeks after the procedure by clinic visit, letter, or telephone contact was achieved for 96 per cent all patients. An overall rate of 29.1 complications per 1,000 procedures was observed, with a rate of 27.4 for abortions performed by physician assistants and 30.8 for physicians. The incidence of immediate complications was 6.1 per 1,000 procedures; delayed complication incidence was 23.2 per 1,000 procedures.

4. Women have a 65% higher risk of clinical depression following abortion vs. childbirth
Researchers knew that the relationship between depression and abortion had not been adequately examined, because of “short follow up periods, the absence of information on prior psychological state, and lack of nationally representative samples.”  Here’s what they found:

After controlling for several socio-demographic factors, women whose first pregnancies ended in abortion were 65% more likely to score in the ‘high-risk’ range for clinical depression than women whose first pregnancies resulted in a birth. Differences were greatest among the demographic groups most likely to report an abortion.

5. 65% of women suffer symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder after abortion
PTSD is not just for soldiers coming home from war.  In a study comparing Russian and American women’s reaction to abortion, researchers found that:

… 65% of American women… experienced multiple symptoms of increased arousal, re-experiencing and avoidance associated with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), 14.3% of American… met the full diagnostic criteria for PTSD.
Posttraumatic stress reactions were found to be associated with abortion. Consistent with previous research, the data here suggest abortion can increase stress and decrease coping abilities…

The U.S. National Library of Medicine reports:

6. Women’s death rates from various causes after abortion are 3.5 times higher than after giving birth
This is a very mysterious fact.  Finnish researchers determined women who have had abortions die more frequently than those who haven’t:

The death certificates of all fertile-aged women who died in 1987-94 in Finland (n = 9,192) were linked to the Birth, Abortion, and Hospital Discharge Registers (n = 513,472 births, 93,807 induced abortions, and 71,701 other ended pregnancies) to identify the women who had been pregnant during their last year of life. All deaths that occurred up to 1 year after the end of pregnancy were classified according to their connection to pregnancy. In total, 281 qualifying deaths were found.

7. Many women describe their experience as ‘a nightmare’, which can hardly equated with ‘choice’. 60% of women surveyed after abortion responded that: ‘Part of me died’ While feminists try to convince you that the life you’re carrying inside of you is just a “clump of cells,” most women inherently know this is not the case.

8. 31% of women having abortions report suffering physical health complicationsLadies, abortion is more complicated than a simple “choice.”  It has serious health ramifications for you for years to come.  Please consider giving your child a permanent home through adoption before you make a decision with very grave consequences.
