Here is an actual story from Classic Christianity - by Bob George:
It is based upon the operation of Faith in life!
In the chapter {Freedom in Dependency} faith is discussed in real life cases...
There was a man who had been blind most of his life; who after years of fragile physical health, he felt he was a burden. He believed that his condition was because of his sins. His greatest pain was emotional, coming from his belief that God had rejected him. He thought that sin had separated him from eternal Salvation!
** This is where many people are today...
They seem to have faith but never appear to understand how it works and how to use it!
The big problem with the world and many in the Christian Church, is they are obsessed with sin!
Much of the effort of the modern Christian Church is attempting to get people to stop sinning!
Yet here is the true statement from the Gospel of Christ.
{The Goal of the Christian life is not to stop people from sinning!}
Read and heed:
1 Peter 2:9 (NIV)
9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
Now here is the real goal of the Christian Life! Knowing Christ!John 17:3New International Version (NIV)
3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.Remember that the Law showed mankind their need, but never to total solution! It's purpose was to bring people into the knowledge of their sins and guilt; so that they could turn to Jesus Christ as Savior - Hebrews 12:2 (ESV) Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
When Christians are living under the Law {Old Testament 10 Commandments} the results were always the same; which was fear, guilt and frustration under the feeling of condemnation!
Because how can you love a God that you are laboring {working } to please - yet never can??
Under the Law you will experience a lack of the ability to love God or people. You can only come to envy, hate, and judge others...That is the way of the Law!
Under the Law you will never really experience peace or rest in your Christian life! Why/
Because your works are never done - it is impossible to satisfy for your sins...

Stop back for Part 3 - as we discover how to live as God desired for us in peace, harmony and the Love of God!
