NOTE There are three R's -
Receive -You receive the rightly divide Word of God.
Retain - You retain it in your memory
Release -Then you release what you have learned about God and his true word to others.
Releasing opens the doors to more receiving. How often have you been witnessing to someone when, after they raised a question or objection, God laid on you the perfect answer and, in so doing, gave you a whole new insight into the Word?
Witnessing builds spiritual versatility. Or how about later when you are by yourself with God, pondering what better reply you will give the next time you hear the question you believe stumped you today?
In this context you are not in the "heat of the battle," but cleaning your weapon behind the lines, and once again God shows you the answer. When you witness, you learn. You and God are a team. The DYNAMIC DUO of SPIRITUALITY.
God's greatest desire is that people know Him, for when they do, they will love Him. They can only know and love Him by hearing His Word.
When you speak it, picture God cheering you on just as He did his only begotten son, Jesus Christ.
Matthew 17:5 - "While he yet spoke, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear you him."
A very important thing you can do with your head is to consciously think about or tell yourself how much You LOVE the person to whom you are speaking. The "real you" is Christ in you. As you witness, picture him witnessing to and loving the person.
I John 4:18 - "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love."
Why does it work?
Because you are thinking of the other person. Rather than being self-conscious. People can somehow sense the difference. And guess what? They will tend to see You as you see yourself.
