From a post by a FB friend:
Graduation, Elevation and Exaltation.
*** For great destinies are never birthed in comfort.
*** For great destinies are never birthed in comfort.
While in church not long ago I was observing a friend who was leading worship. Knowing he was fairly new at it, I observed as he tried to find his place as the new worship leader, extremely conscientious and aware of his own imperfections.
While observing I began to imagine a child riding a bike with training wheels on it, knowing very well that soon the supports would come off and this exceptional worshiper will find his way.
Just as quickly as the thought entered my mind The Lord gave me a vision of a young Forest Gump running with braces on his legs, I saw the scene in the movie “Forest Gump” where he ran for his life as his enemies pursued behind. I saw the moment where it almost seemed a wind kicked in and Forest gained a strength that he didn’t know was on the inside of him, he had no idea that all along he possessed the ability to outrun his pursuers, leaving them in the dust.
The Lord began to show that it's in desperate times where we will find renewed strength and understanding through these difficult and most awkward experiences that what we need is already inside of us. The ability to run like that was already in Forest Gump’s DNA, he may have never known it had he not been put in a situation where he had to fail or succeed entirely.
Later in the movie, Forest effected change and held great influence because of his ability to run the way he did, in fact it became the catalyst which caused him to succeed in college, save lives during the Vietnam war, and become influential in his country.
After seeing this vision the Lord said “When this worship leader reaches a place of desperation that is where he will "find himself" in this new role. For great destinies are never birthed in comfort.
This is so familiar. Go find yourself, find your identity and that which I created you for, leave your comforts, the walls that you’ve grown accustomed to lean on. This is the very place where Abram was sent to find himself in God.
Genesis 12: 1 Now the Lord said unto Abram, get thee out (Lech Lecha) of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
Genesis 12: 1 Now the Lord said unto Abram, get thee out (Lech Lecha) of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
(The great Rabbinic commentator Rashi understood lech lechah in absolutely literal terms)
Go for your own good." God told Abram that this was not just a command to leave home, it is an invitation to adventure, wonder and self-discovery.”
Go for your own good." God told Abram that this was not just a command to leave home, it is an invitation to adventure, wonder and self-discovery.”
This is the journey which set Abram on a path of graduation into the place of elevation shown in Genesis 17 where he went from Abram to Abraham. God promised to establish His covenant with him and changed his life forever and later promised that his seed shall possess the gates of their enemies.
You may find yourself in much discomfort, with little or no support, maybe you’re in total desperation. Do not lose heart for you’re in good company. Like Abraham, Esther and even Joseph, before you know it you will find yourself right where God has purposed, a place of graduation, elevation and exaltation.
