Gut Health!
Until about 15 years ago - most of the Medical community explained the human digestive tract as only 3 basic functions; 1) digestion, 2) absorption and 3) excretion! Very simple - but not totally correct. Yet now we know that the Gut has it's own nervous system - with over 100 million nerve cells sandwiched around the Gut, tied to the immune system...
The composition of Gut bacteria changs as the body is exposed to different diseases. Part of the hormonal and endocrine systems are also located in the Gut track! Hormones are stored in specialized cells along the lining of the Gut were found to have a prominent role in appetite regulation!
This has turned our human model upside down. The Gut contributes to many different sites in the body! This is really a revolution in the understanding of the body's functions... Food and fibers we consume feed and fuel the body! These produce either good beneficial or bad negative bacteria for our health. Your diet is either a boom or doom to your body.
Let's consider the beneficial foods and probiotics which are necessary to your good health. Feeding your Gut is a combination of prebiotics and probiotics can help resolve digestive issues and increase overall health!
The simple thing is decreasing inflammatory-type foods. Such as the following items.
Decrease Bad Animal Fats, sugary drinks, salty snacks, high-processed foods high amounts of calories. A diet high in inflammatory foods can lead to a number of unhealthy conditions. This diet can lead to the leaky gut - inflammation that cause the cell walls to be more permeable, allowing bad bacteria to pass through.
" Gut health has implications to many chronic diseases that simple things like eating right, having a positive mindset and exercise can correct." Dr. Emeran Mayer, Director of the Gail and Gerald Oppenheimer Center for Neurobiology of Stress and Resilience at UCLA - the Author of " The Mind-gut Connection.
So take time to evaluate your diet and take a positive step to better health!
