Here is more truth that you may not really want to know?
========================================
Dear Reader,
Are you getting a powerful dose of antibiotics with your morning Corn Flakes?
Or how about in your cup of coffee?
Depending on what kind of milk you have sitting in your fridge right now, you just might be.
A federal report has discovered that some of the largest milk producers in America are using a government loophole to sneak heavy-duty prescription drugs into our milk supply.
And more often than not, that tall glass of milk could contain a murderers' row of some of the strongest -- and even deadliest -- meds around.
------------------------------
The land of milk and honey?
------------------------------
When milk tests positive for antibiotics, it's illegal to sell it -- no ifs, ands or buts.
That's federal law.
But our government does about as good a job policing it as Barney Fife did guarding the Mayberry jail.
We've been told for years that there's very little risk of antibiotics in our milk -- but the truth is, there's just very little risk of our government inspectors finding antibiotics with their shoddy testing.
You see, right now, milk shipments are tested for six very common antibiotics. But you don't exactly need to be a criminal genius to figure out how milk producers get around it.
The dairy industry simply pumps its cows full of antibiotics the government doesn't test for -- all so they can make a little extra cash by not having to dump tainted milk.
Heaven forbid they actually put your health ahead of profits!
So when the FDA ran a test for 31 different kinds of meds in milk (starting with farms that had a history of animal drug violations), I'll give you one guess what they found.
Some samples from the "targeted" group didn't just turn up drug residues -- they were actually laced with powerful meds that were never even approved by the FDA for use in dairy cows.
I'm talking about antibiotics like sulfamethazine and even Cipro, which can cause everything from chronic diarrhea to death!
That's why the meds didn't turn up in the routine tests. No one was even looking for them.
Of course, now that the dairy industry's dirty secret has been exposed, it doesn't look like the Feds are going to lift a finger to stop it.
The samples were collected anonymously, which means that the FDA couldn't punish the farms breaking the law even if they wanted to (and let's face it -- there's no guarantee they'd do anything anyway). But just because the FDA wants to bury its head in the sand doesn't mean the rest of us have to.
The bottom line is, stick with organic milk and dairy products whenever you can. They may cost a few pennies more -- but at least you won't have to worry that you're drinking some risky Big Pharma stew.
To Your Good Health,
Jenny Thompson
