God can't make you humble; humility is something you have to choose. (James 4:10)

Humility: God's Path to More Grace.
God's kingdom operates differently than the system of the world. Society today operates in a lot of selfishness, pride, and arrogance-promoting one's self above others and doing things completely contrary to what the Word of God teaches.
It's important that leaders in the body of Christ counter this culture, because it is vital to receiving more grace from God.

Humility is not a goal for most people, but this favor-this sought-after manifestation of God's goodness-isn't going to come as long as you're operating in pride. James 4:6 says, "But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble." You have to humble yourself to have more grace operating through you.
That is a huge statement. Because our society has forsaken humility and put a premium on pride, arrogance, and boasting, many are following this different pattern by default. Even Christians today have become very self-centered, promoting and depending on their selves rather than God. But God will pass over the proud to pour out His grace on someone who is operating in humility.

People today largely do not appreciate the power of true humility. They think it's weakness. They think it's having low self-esteem. But that's not what it is at all. Humility is actually very powerful. Moses was the meekest man on the face of the earth (Num. 12:3), but he opened up the ground that swallowed Korah, Dathan, and Abiram into the pit (Num. 16:27-33). Do you know what that is?

It's meekness. In Matthew 11:29, Jesus said that He was "meek and lowly in heart." But He also took a whip and drove the money changers out of the temple, not just once, but twice (John 2:15 and Matt. 21:12).

This isn't how religion and the world paint meekness or humility.

Gravity, just like humility, is a godly law.

A person can walk off a tall building, and the law of gravity that God created for their benefit can kill them. Likewise, going against the law of humility in God's kingdom will hurt you because it is His law. He loves you and wants to bless you, but everything in His kingdom operates on this premise of humility.

When you get into pride, you are fighting against the kingdom of God. Everything in His kingdom is against pride. So, position yourself to receive more of His grace, and see the difference it makes in your life today.
