Dear Reader,
During World War II, scientists in China and the Former Soviet Union looking to turn their soldiers into "super soldiers" left no stone upturned. No technology was "off limits" -- no therapy too wild or unproven.
But it wasn't until they had to cure soldiers returning from the horrors of war that they stumbled on a therapy so powerful, it had men stuck in a coma moving again...
Fortunately, US Army doctors were able to see this new therapy in use and bring it back home.
Unfortunately, shortly after the war was over, new drugs burst on the scene and this cheap, natural, easy to use therapy was put on the back shelf...
** Big Pharm won out - with more drugs...
Fast forward 75 years... once again soldiers are returning from the horrors of war, but this time things are much different. Instead of treating "shell shock", anxiety and stress with the "old" therapy, soldiers are stuffed full of drugs... turning them into walking zombies.
Until a group of doctors -- fed up with poor results and unhappy patients and families -- rediscovered that "old" World War II therapy. Taking a small group of soldiers, these doctors proved that:
- Anxiety could be significantly reduced in just 2 or 3 treatments
- Anger and irritability were eliminated for 30% of participants within minutes of treatment
- Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) was significantly reduced even for those suffering for 20 years or more
- Participants suffering from occasional depression found their symptoms were greatly reduced after the first week of treatment.
Starting in 2012, dozens of hospitals and hundreds of patients entered into a multi-year controlled study. And now, finally, the results are in.
If you're the least bit interested in health and healing then you need to check out this "weird" old-but-new therapy.
The year was 2012 and a revolutionary medical study had just begun.
The study's aim was to understand how the most traumatized of Americans could cope with extreme anxiety... depression... even suicidal thoughts - without drugs.
Walter Reed's state-of-the-art National Intrepid Center of Excellence (the NICoE) uses creative arts side-by-side with traditional therapies. And in November 2012, music was added to the healing arts. In fact, music therapy has long been used to calm anxious soldiers.
In fact, the early results were so positive by 1944 you could earn a degree in music therapy. Today about 50 music therapists work in Veteran's hospitals throughout the United States.
If you suffer from Anxiety, these next studies will have you jumping for joy
In 1985 medical researchers used music with Vietnam veterans diagnosed with PTSD. The music helped them to focus their "often misdirected, exaggerated, and unrecognized emotions." The men could control their feelings and express their emotions like never before. Then in 1994 another group (diagnosed with PTSD) used music to "reconnect" with their emotions, gain a better understanding of self, improve their concentration and, finally, relax.
The effects of music are nothing short of amazing. From strokes to PTSD, music has been shown to improve the quality of life.
The recommendation is clear. If you get sick, injured, even if you have a stroke, your body can recuperate faster if you use music.
Today, more and more soldiers returning from battle with anxiety attacks, depression, fatigue, and injuries are requesting "non-druggy" therapies. Some, because they've seen the effects of drugs on their fellow warriors. Others simply want a more natural solution.
But what about you...
If it works on a battle-scarred vet...
Can it work for you?
Music (and sounds in general) are very powerful and influential forces in our lives.Consider the sounds on a city street...
Birds chirping outside your window...
A crack of thunder in the distance...
These elicit very specific responses and reactions in our bodies.
Think about the most successful movies of all time. Not only was there riveting action, there was awe-inspiring, spine-tingling music. The greatest story in the world is made unforgettable by adding the right kind of music.
Remember the movie JAWS
Did the shark snap you to the edge of your seat with its now infamous THEME ... dun-dun...dun-dun? Can you still hear the music from the Titanic?
Do you think of Jack and Rose pretending to fly on the bow of the Titanic when you hear the opening to My Heart Will Go On?
Of course the answer is yes...
The soundtrack to a movie is what creates your mood ... moves you to feel anxiety, serenity, and even the pain of the characters...
In fact, throughout our entire history, music has had the power to transform us spiritually and physically. Because as Longfellow pointed out...
"Music is the universal language of mankind. Now we’re discovering what the ancients have known for millennia – music also has the power to heal."
And this is just the tip of the iceberg. Music is being used more frequently in hospitals to soothe postoperative pain, lower blood pressure, and boost immunity. The reason for this is because music can balance hormones, boost the release of endorphins, giving you a greater sense of peace ... which could lead to faster recovery and give you more profound healing.
The Revolutionary New Music That's Destroying Anxiety... Breaking Depression... And Melting Stress...
The latest music therapy to be played in VA hospitals for veterans is a new type of music called Wholetones. It's only recently been made available to the public and has been gathering some very unique and promising results ever since. You need to see the results of this multi-year study and the effects it had on those lucky enough to participate. If nothing else, you'll have some exciting news to share with the people you know... and you just might be able to help someone at their wits-end.
Yours for excellent health,
