Lack wisdom?
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.
8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

An actual happening -
Some years ago, down in west GA, a couple of missionaries were visiting with an older man in his home, and discussing this very scripture - James 1:5-8...
When the man ask where does it say that??
He was shown the passage in his Bible - Upon seeing it; he took his Bible back and promptly torn out the entire Book of James from his Bible! And said " well it is not in my Bible anymore! "
This left the missionary pair the only one opportunity, which was to leave the fool alone....
** When will people stop and seek the Truth!
