NATION IN CRISIS: In 1983, the National Commission on Excellence in
Education published its report entitled A Nation at Risk, yet chose to
address only the symptoms and ignore the root cause of the problem.
The steep decline in the quality and efficiency of public education began with the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Engel v. Vitale (1962), which transferred control of education from the public to the government.
Accountability is critical in assuring both quality and efficiency.
Yet, government is accountable only to itself, which explains the massive failures and cost overruns of government projects.

Thanks to Senator Ted Cruz, every American can now hold everyone in
Congress (202-224-3121) accountable to uphold their sacred oath of
office to “secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our
posterity,” by signing onto the Education Freedom Accounts Act
(S.2455/H.R.4426).

This will empower all D.C. parents to rescue their children from substandard D.C. Public Schools and provide them with a quality education at schools of their choice for less cost. This will also send a powerful message to all 50 state legislatures on how to restore quality, efficiency, liberty and justice. We can then all “pledge allegiance to the flag…with liberty and justice for all.”
