Jenny's personal road to natural health began like many others -- with one life-changing discovery.   But unlike most of those others, Jenny's awakening wasn't because of an illness. No, it was the result of an accidental peek behind the curtain of mainstream health "care."  Shortly after college, Jenny worked as a communications officer for a company that compiled and sold health care data. Hospitals used this data to measure how they performed compared to their peer hospitals.

But it wasn't long before she uncovered a shocking fact: The hospitals weren't comparing how many people they cured or how many lives they saved. No, they used the data to make sure they got patients out of the hospital quickly enough -- without killing them. That's when she realized the entire medical system was flawed. It judged success only on numbers -- on dollars and cents -- not on diseases cured or lives made better. And she knew there had to be another way. Convinced she had to do something, but aware that one wide-eyed girl would never take on the medical establishment and win, Jenny set her sights on getting help to the people that needed it most.  And that led her to the Health Sciences Institute, where she's served as the Director for the past 11 years. Through HSI, Jenny and her team empower people to take control of their own health, rather than leave it to people who confuse medicine and accounting. After growing up in New Jersey, Jenny trekked down the turnpike to get her journalism degree from the University of Maryland College Park, and has called Maryland "home" ever since.
