Learn to control every thought - since much of today's stress has a large number of psychological emotional components. The key is to get stress under control so that it can not over-drive the body's systems! Stress is rooted in the perception that a person has lost control of their life! Usually because of excessive hypertension! Do not go there or accept it!
It is your choice!
But it is not due to stress! Because two people can encounter the exact circumstances and one may be over-whelmed with stress - while the the other remains under-control and calm! Therefore it is not stress which dictates the mood and behavior. It comes down to learning how to adjust and control your wrong thinking and thus live in peace! God offers Peace!
It comes down to who or what is the gatekeeper of your mind! We all have a God given Intelligence to use in seeking to achieve the Power of God's Word in our existence! Stress begins in the mind and only the Word of God has the power to shield, protect, and strengthen your mind against the power of stress!

The Bible outlines how we can come to control every anxious, worried, fretful, and fearful thought of the world! Start by not allowing stress to get the upper hand in your mind!
{Read the following 2 scriptures which give the proper criteria for not allowing random and destructive, misleading thoughts entrance into your mind (soul) then meditate on these for your eternal benefit:

Cast down improper thoughts
5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
- Philippians 4:8 (NKJV)
Meditate on These Things
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.Learn to live life in the present as stress comes from worry about tomorrow which you can not control or know for sure !
