Here is some sound advice for those who care enough to learn about life!
I wanted for our (4) sons to understand that throughout their
lives, their greatest competition won't be other people.
Rather, it be their experience in life as determined by the
following:
1) How they identify people, projects, and experiences that matter
most to them.
2) How they work to gain knowledge and develop the necessary skills that are useful
to their life purposes.
3) Learning to can be humble, trustworthy, and kind.
4) That they should learn to listen with intent as to understand, and while listening more
than they talk.
5) That they can take full responsibility for mistakes they make,
deliver sincere apologies when and where warranted, then learn from their mistakes.
6) If they can identify and minimize their exposure to toxic
people - those who consistently take advantage of others and
repeatedly try to manipulate and deceive for personal gain.
7) That they learn to make sacrifices and investments that are needed to
create financial freedom - but not necessarily to be monetarily
wealthy, but to create a life in which their basic needs are met.
8) These are a few of the thoughts that we shared to offer the best for their lives!
