In Gaston County, North Carolina, a man called the local Walmart, spoke to the manager, and stated that he wanted some help picking out toys for kids for the holidays.
Michael McDaniel, the general manager, was more than happy to help — until he heard that the man wanted to buy $30,000 worth of gifts.
According to a WBTV, McDaniel couldn’t believe what he heard.
“I was shocked,” he said. “I was trying to make sure I heard it correctly.”
After the shock wore off, he instructed his employees to pick out gifts suitable for children. They gathered games, bicycles, dolls, toy trucks and other age-appropriate toys and loaded the items into an 18-wheeler.
That’s when McDaniel called Detective Carla Mastro with the Gastonia Police Department. Astro called the Department of Social Services in Gastonia to arrange a delivery for the children in the system. Police then escorted the truck to the Department of Social Services and filled up two rooms with the gifts.
Strange how God works ....
*** BTW: I have been to this Walmart Several times in recent years...
