Freedom is not free it requires sacrefices

From a reply on Naval service the 4th July 2019
The question was, what did you do, and would you change it?

My answer was an absolute NO! * it was a character and skills builder which helped shape the rest of my life!
It shows the " Can Do " Navy motto!

FTG 3 (Weapons Control Technician - both Gun and Missiles) keep as it introduced me to electronics - computers and radar, plus being able to work with sophisticated tracking systems. Then learning how to improvise and function as a team member, on a 24 x 7 schedule.

Served on 3 Destroyers and had 175,000 Nautical miles at sea - with over 100 times of getting underway. Spent (2) Christmas overseas, saw over 20 countries.
Had some dangerous times but during those events we were too busy care or really notice! It was the job we had responsibility for at sea: at sea rescues, evacuations from dangerous areas saving people from Riots - helped fight fires on other ships at sea, and assisted others overseas!

Thanks for your service whenever and where ever you did. I did not think much about the support of supply corps or support units, until much later when I worked on a floating offshore drilling rig - On Destroyers deployed we had fuel replenishment about every week, plus food and Ammo without which we would have soon been dead in the water!

God Bless your service whomever you were and whatever you did in the Fleet!
