 We are officially living in an Orwellian police state where any who dare to try and tell the truth are dealt with severely. Forcing the employees of "national" weather and climate agencies to sign "confidentiality agreements is extremely alarming (with unimaginable potential consequences), but not surprising given what we know about the cataclysms being caused by the rapidly growing climate engineering elephant in the room.

The power structure is beginning to panic as the public wakes up to the criminal climate engineering insanity. The growing police state is completely out of control and becoming unimaginably blatant with their actions. In recent weeks Washington has placed "gag orders" on the following agency employees, "The National Weather Service", the "National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration", and the "US Department of Commerce". This is a massive red flag that should trigger alarm bells everywhere. 

Bill Hopkins, the executive vice president for the National Weather Service employees organization (NWSEO) said this:

“As a taxpayer, I find it highly disturbing that a government agency continues to push gag orders to hide how they operate. This is the work of the American government, owned by the American public, and should be open to the American public.”

Jeff Ruch, the executive director "PEER" (Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility) said this about the "gag orders".

“The National Weather Service is about the last place where national security-style secrecy rules need to be enforced,” Ruch noted that the broad scope of the gag orders put much of what goes on inside the agency under wraps.  “Everyone is free to talk about the weather except for the people working inside the National Weather Service. Go figure.”

Some time ago I personally spoke to an NOAA scientist that said "we all know it is going on (climate engineering) but we are afraid to speak out, we have no first amendment protection". The new "gag order" is a further muzzling of the NWS and NOAA. It is likely there are many in the National Weather Service and NOAA that have had enough of lying about what is really going on in our skies.

 

Massive atmospheric aerosol spraying assaults are constant around the globe. Almost all meteorologists have so far denied the all too obvious ongoing climate engineering operations.

Other weather agencies and personnel have also been actively engaged in public deception. What did BBC "meteorologist" Ian Fergusson say about the picture below?

 "When rain, ice crystals or snow falls but evaporates before reaching the ground, it's a (natural) phenomenon called 'virga' or 'fallstreak'."

 

The so called "experts" are naming jet aircraft sprayed aerosol clouds as if they are produced by nature. 

A report from PEER contains the following statement:

This summer, the National Weather Service began requiring a signed confidentiality agreement (Exhibit I) from NWSEO participants along with all participants on the OWA teams. These agreements purport to bind NWSEO representatives from communicating with its members, members of Congress or any other person regarding agency plans and how they are determined. These agreements also do not contain terms allowing reports of actual or impending law or rule violations, gross mismanagement, waste or abuse.

The PEER report continued with this:

The National Weather Service, NOAA and Commerce are presently implementing and enforcing nondisclosure agreements which violate the law.

A shocking high percentage of academia has completely sold out to the cabal that is currently controlling the world. What is the primary objective of this core of global power?

This paper analyzes determinants of technology acceptance and their interdependence. It highlights the role of affect in attitude formation toward new technologies and examines how it mediates the influence of stable psychological variables on technology acceptance. Based on theory and previous empirical evidence, we develop an analytical framework of attitude formation. We test this framework using survey data on the acceptance of stratospheric aerosol injection (SAI)…

Furthermore, affect is an important mediator between stable psychological variables – like trust in government, values, and attitudes – and acceptance. A person’s effective response is thus guided by her general attitudes and values.

We live in an increasingly dystopian world in which the power structure (and the legions of academicians it controls) are not only creating conditions of planetary omnicide in their quest for total control, but they are also striving to make the public at large embrace the unfolding omnicide. 

1. INTRODUCTION
Fighting climate change is one of the major global challenges of the 21st century. However, even timely and substantial cuts in greenhouse gas emissions may fail to limit global warming to 2°C above preindustrial levels (IPCC 2014). Against this background, new technologies to limit global warming, known as climate engineering or geoengineering, entered the scientific and political debate. 

Climate engineering technologies could be an effective way to cool atmospheric temperatures and prevent massive damages from climate change. However, many of these technologies carry substantial risks. Stratospheric aerosol injection (SAI), for example, could change precipitation patterns or induce abrupt temperature changes… 
Public concern about climate engineering technologies is substantial (Bellamy and Hulme 2011; Borick and Rabe 2012; Macnaghten and Szerszynski 2013; Merk et al. 2015) and has been voiced in protests… 

In the present study, we analyze the factors that determine the acceptability of climate engineering for the case of SAI. 

(1) How do stable psychological variables – i.e., values, environmental attitudes and risk attitudes, and trust in government – influence technology acceptance? Do they enter attitude formation via cognitive or effective pathways? 

The chart above (taken straight from the report) makes the objective of this study crystal clear, to frame "stratospheric aerosol injection" in a way that will most likely produce public "acceptance".

2. ANALYTICAL FRAMEWORK
Our model builds on established theories of risk perception and attitude formation and combines them into a comprehensive framework. It accommodates the value‐belief‐norm theory (Stern 2000) and the theory of planned behavior (Ajzen 1985) in assuming that the acceptance of a technology is determined by domain‐specific beliefs… 

2.1. Risk and Benefit Perception
Attitudes form in part from a weighing of risks and benefits (Ajzen 1985). Consequently, the perceptions of risks and benefits of a technology are direct antecedents of acceptance. 

2.3. Trust in Government
Trust in institutions associated with the technology is a consistent predictor of technology acceptance… 

2.4. Egoistic and Altruistic Values
Values are guiding principles in the life of a person (Schwartz 1992). As stable characteristics they direct attention and form beliefs and attitudes across an array of contexts (Stern, Kalof et al. 1995). For environmental behavior, egoistic and altruistic values are particularly relevant (Stern 2000). In attitude formation toward technologies with environmental consequences, these values guide a person’s focus in weighing perceived risks and benefits (De Groot and Steg 2007; De Groot and Steg 2008). People with strong egoistic values display a preference for social power, wealth, authority, and influence; they tend to mainly consider perceived risks and benefits for themselves. By contrast, people with strong altruistic values display a preference for equality, world peace, and social justice and tend to focus on perceived risks and benefits for others. 

1. This causal model of trust is particularly suitable for assessments of new technologies on which people have little information but are knowledgeable of actors involved (Earle 2010). The associationist model of trust, by contrast, supposes that the acceptability of a hazard influences perceived risks and trust in authorities. The associationist model is particularly suitable if people are knowledgeable about a hazard, but not about actors involved. For example, the acceptability of a hazard may be used to assess the trustworthiness of regulatory authorities…

The global geoengineering assault (stratospheric aerosol injection) has been wreaking havoc on the climate system and the biosphere for decades. In spite of the total decimation being inflicted on our planet from the ongoing climate engineering programs, the players involved are too committed to their quest for total power to turn back. 

2.7. Acceptance
Aerosol injection is yet only little known and protesting or supporting behavior has not yet evolved. 
Through SRM, a portion of the sunlight is reflected before it can warm the Earth. This can be achieved by, for example, spraying sulfate particles into the atmosphere at a high altitude. 

… respondents were asked about their acceptance, their risk and benefit perception as well as their effective response to aerosol injection. Finally, altruistic and egoistic values were elicited. 

Risks
It changes the amount of precipitation.
It can take away people's motivation to change their lifestyle.
There is the possibility of further unknown and unforeseeable risks.
The abrupt increase of Earth's temperature in case of a sudden stop of SRM can lead to severe problems for humans and the environment.
The use of SRM could cause international conflicts.

Benefits
Global warming is slowed down more quickly than by cutting greenhouse gas emissions.
Massive and irreversible changes in the climate can be stopped before too much damage is done.
It is cheaper than reducing the consumption of fossil fuels.
Even if certain countries do not want to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, it is possible to stop climate change. 

The claimed "benefits" of "stratospheric aerosol injection" are a reflection of the usual military/industrial complex mentality of programmed delusion. The already proven reality is this, climate engineering is nothing short of a global cataclysm.

Geoengineering programs are the greatest and most destructive assault ever launched by the human race against the life support systems of planet Earth.

3.3.3. Trust in Government
Trust in government was measured by the question `How much do you trust that the federal government will act in the interest of the environment and the society?’

We thus used a broad definition of general trust in good intentions for society and the environment. The 4‐point response scale ranged from `do not trust at all’ (1) to `trust completely’ (4). 

However, the relevance of beliefs about humans’ capacity and right to rule over nature likely varies with the perceived scope of the technologies’ interference with nature.

5. CONCLUSION
We proposed a technology acceptance framework that captures the interplay between values, attitudes, affect, risk and benefit perception, and the acceptance of new technologies. Using data from a large survey, we successfully tested the framework analyzing the determinants of the acceptance of stratospheric aerosol injection.
Our data show evidence of both effective and cognitive pathways in attitude formation. Acceptance is directly influenced by positive and negative affect, as well as perceived risks and benefits. People are, however, more strongly guided by affect than by their perception of risks and benefits. Furthermore, affect is the most important mediator between psychological variables – such as trust, values, and attitudes – and acceptance. All variables influence acceptance partly through an altered effective evaluation. Only trust, altruism, and state of nature change the perceived effects of the technology not only via affect but also directly.

In our survey, we provided neutrally framed, unbiased information. Only few respondents had heard about aerosol injection before the survey and there has not yet been a broad public discourse about the topic.

This is the world we currently live in, one in which the vast majority are all too willing to serve the cancer that is consuming the planet so long as their service and obedience produces a paycheck and a pension.   WOW!

The current paradigm is already well into the process of collapsing, those that still refuse to believe reality will very soon be forced to face it. If we all work together we could yet expose climate engineering before the power structure is prepared for this to occur. If we can expose it, we can stop it. We need to reach this goal before the coming collapse materializes and we lose our ability to communicate on the current scale or perhaps the ability to communicate at all. The list of ingredients. Unethical? Yes. Healthy? No.

Just stopped in the salad dressing aisle, not for salad dressing, but for an Italian seasoning packet that we mix with extra virgin olive oil and red wine vinegar.  Makes for a perfect, tasty, all natural salad dressing with wholesome ingredients, much unlike the typical salad dressings that line grocery store shelves.

"All-natural" salad dressing found in the refrigerated section aren't much different.  You'll still see these oils as the base of nearly all of those brands as well.  Why?  They're cheap!

Also, don't be fooled by labels that claim "Made with Extra Virgin Olive Oil".  Sure, they'll point that out on the front of the label because it sounds good and leads you to believe that it's an extra virgin olive oil based dressing.  Instead, that only means that there is at least a drop of extra virgin olive oil in the bottle, and often times that's all it has.  Flip the label over and you'll see the same vegetable oils listed first and extra virgin olive oil way down on the list of ingredients.  Unethical? Yes.  Healthy? No.

2. More often than not, in addition to cheap, potentially harmful oils, store bought salad dressing is also loaded with sugar to boot.  Even worse, it often comes in the form of high fructose corn syrup (the absolute worst form of sugar available).  Just check the label.

3.  To round of the trifecta of horrid ingredients contained in traditional salad dressings we have the long list of artificial additives and preservatives that often plague these products.  If you're looking to avoid artificial chemicals in your food, simply put, you won't have much luck with store bought salad dressing.

That's why I recommend you do what we do.  Grab a seasoning packet from the store, mix with REAL extra virgin olive and vinegar, and enjoy your dressing the healthy and still very convenient way.

Now, while on the topic of oils, I want to make sure you are aware of the

Root Canals?

Here is something that you need to know!
 
One of the questions I am most often asked is what my opinion is about root canals. Specifically many people are concerned about a tooth that the dentist says needs a root canal?

Why Is There So Much Stress About Root Canals?
The reason is that besides implants, a root canal is one of the most profitable per hour procedure. So a dentist looking to increase their income needs to recommend profitable procedures like: veneers, implants, root canals, crowns or bridges. But, they cannot take too much time to do each procedure, or the profit margin dwindles.

That does not mean all diagnosis of teeth that are recommended for root canals are wrong, but unfortunately a significant majority of them are wrong because the profit motive blinds the dentist.

My opinion on root canals is that most of them are unnecessary, even from the conventional dental perspective. What is the alternative?
Heal your teeth with a good diet, and if the teeth are already too far damaged, find a dentist who is willing to do a large filling to try to conserve the tooth.

God our Heavenly Father is not seen the same by everyone...

Religion has standards. That is why liberals have such a tough time with it. It declares there is right and wrong, even if a person does not like the standards, and we are not free to alter those standards simply because they are difficult or inconvenient. Religion also has doctrine, and that, too, is not subject to debate. Of course there are those who want to change the doctrine because it is difficult or uncomfortable. Perhaps a social club would be the place for someone who cannot abide the theology and doctrine of religion.

Larycia Hawkins, a political science teacher at Wheaton College, a private evangelical Christian college, was put on administrative leave after she declared that Muslims and Christians worship the same God.
The school had indicated plans to terminate her employment, but is reconsidering that decision. She wants to bend Christianity to her politically correct view that we are all the same, Kumbaya.
She must be very confused about what Christianity means and what Islam stands for.

Now a Political Science Teacher Equates Islam and Christianity?

Franklin Graham, son of Evangelist Billy Graham, has weighed in and forcefully recommended that the school move forward with the dismissal of Hawkins, indicating that her misunderstanding of the clear differences between Christianity and Islam are “no minor issue.” But many today will make the mistake of wanting to “get along” with everyone and will deny the serious distinction between the two belief systems.

The fundamental issue for Graham is the theological question of the nature of God and therefore the mission of the college.
“Islam denies that God has a Son,” Graham wrote. “They deny that Jesus is God. They do not believe in a Triune God–the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I can tell you–Islam and Christianity clearly do not worship the same God.”

The Wheaton College website, which identifies the school as “explicitly Christian,” includes a statement of faith that unequivocally lays out its Christian beliefs.

“WE BELIEVE in one sovereign God, eternally existing in three persons: the everlasting Father, His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, and the Holy Spirit, the giver of life; and we believe that God created the Heavens and the earth out of nothing by His spoken word, and for His own glory,” it reads.

In her defense, Hawkins wrote: “I stand in religious solidarity with Muslims because they, like me, a Christian, are people of the book,” though it is unclear which “book” she was referring to, since the portrayal of God in the Christian Bible differs on a number of essential points from that offered in the Qur’an.

Being people of a book could just as well apply to Maoists following the “little red book.”

While Christians, Jews, and Muslims all claim to worship

“the God of Abraham,” the understanding that each has of God is not theologically identical. While all monotheists intend to worship the one God, their beliefs concerning who God is vary considerably–and sometimes in essential points, as Graham pointed out.

More to the point, a cursory review of Islamic theology would tell Hawkins that Islam absolutely rejects the idea that Christianity worships the same God, and there are Islamic fundamentalist groups murdering Christians today, or demanding that they convert in order to avoid a death sentence.

No doubt Ms. Hawkins wishes that she could wave a magic wand and make the theological differences disappear so that we could all just get along. That is not her prerogative, nor is it that of Wheaton College. Declaring yourself a Christian suggests you should stand for something, and those precepts should not bend with the winds of political correctness or societal evolution if they are truly from God.

Object of our Anger.

John 2:15, "And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables."

When Jesus brought the message of "love your enemies" to the world and demonstrated it in such a way that some people have forgotten instances like this when Jesus showed anger.
Anger can also be a godly emotion.

Ephesians 4:26, tells us to "be angry and sin not".
This means there is a righteous type of anger which is not sin.
This is why we are told to hate evil

(Ps. 45:7;  
 You love righteousness and hate wickedness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions

Pro. 8:13;
 The fear of the Lord is to hate evil;
Pride and arrogance and the evil way
And the perverse mouth I hate.

 Rom. 12:9  to behave like a Christian
⁹ Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.

Ephesians 4:26, goes on to say, "Let not the sun go down upon your wrath".

That doesn't mean that it's alright to be angry during daylight as long as we repent by nightfall.

  The Satellites Are Lying??

 

I started working with Satellite imaging for over 40 years ago and have not seen any such thing as the Satellite lying...  People lie!

Started working with satellite ground truth stations in 1967 {In order to validate the satellite imaging - ground truth stations are used and required!} setting up remote monitoring stations at various locations in the country!
-  Which gave an hourly computer tape reading { of the general weather and other surface conditions on land, lakes, rivers, and the sea }...
These were sent in to be processed and condensed for give a full picture of exactly what was happening on the earth's surface.  
Actual info on what the Satellite sees... 

Have worked at the Naval Oceanographic Center at the Stennis Space Center - where 3 Cray Super computers were used to compile the massive date continually on the ocean conditions coming in from all over the world!
 Have also worked at the NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center - Red-stone arsenal base in Huntsville, Alabama.  Also worked at the Cape Canaveral Space Center on several occasions.  Worked Tyndale AFB - FL '98 & '99 at the USAF Research Facility near Mexico Beach.  Have also worked at Oak Ridge, TN 
  Oak Ridge National Laboratory, a nuclear and high-tech research establishment at the site, and performs national security work. Titan, a supercomputer at the National Laboratory, was named the world's fastest supercomputer in 2012. Worked Tyndale AFB - FL at the USAF Research Facility near Mexico Beach.

Plus have spent time on several ships at sea which collect continual weather conditions as floating weather stations...  Spent some time in both Iceland and at Porto Rico facilities.... Have been to the Hawaii Space observatories on MAUI, and the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory, Herzberg Institute of Astrophysics, Victoria, British Columbia in Canada. Therefore I believe that there is plenty of Data to collaborate the true conditions on the planet earth!

Most all of this has been the result of using satellite data!   This is not counting the daily use of satellite communications and surveillance! 

I would say that certain other "Politically (in)Correct types" are Lying about this! To make money and gain more power!  The Satellite system works  - it is what or how the Imaging has been used!

AUTHORITY OF THE BELIEVER

God has given us authority as believers. In order to address this, we’re going to have to deal not only with the authority we have but the authority of Satan.
 He has been blown out of proportion. Christians have been led to believe we are fighting a being whose power is superior to ours, and we are just barely are able to cope with him. That’s not what the Scripture teaches at all.

It does say in Ephesians 6:12, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
 So Satan is a factor; he does exist. He has a hierarchy of principalities and powers that we’re dealing with, but in the verse just prior to that, it says that we have to stand against the wiles of the devil. The only power Satan really has against us is deception. He doesn’t have power to just overcome us.

In Genesis 3 we see that when the first temptation came against Adam and Eve, Satan didn’t come with some superior force. For instance, instead of inhabiting a mammoth or an elephant, putting his foot on Adam’s head, threatening them, and saying “Serve me or else,” he inhabited a snake, the most subtle creature God made. The word “subtle” means “sly, deceptive, or cunning.”

The reason Satan came through the snake was because he really didn’t have the power to force Adam and Eve to do anything. He could only deceive. He came against the nature and character of God and began to criticize Him, saying, “God doesn’t really love you—He’s holding things back from you.”

He used deception to tempt Adam and Eve to sin against God. They were the ones who had all the authority, and the reason Satan had to do it this way was because he didn’t have power to come against God.

There’s so much more I don’t have time to go in to, but one of the main points I want to get across is that concerning the authority of the believer, you have to recognize that Satan has zero power and authority over you.
 He is a defeated foe. His only power against you is to come against you with lies and deception.
If your life is being destroyed, you can say “Satan is the one who is
firing these shots at me,” but you are the one who is giving him the ammunition.

You’re the one who has to respond to his lies and deception. If you didn’t yield to Satan, he would have no inroads or power against you.
In 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 it says, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalted itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” 

These scriptures are talking about the weapons of your warfare, and every weapon mentioned refers to your mind, dealing with thoughts. Satan doesn’t have the power to do anything to you except through deception.

I want to quickly summarize some things. In the beginning God, of course, had all authority. All power and authority has to emanate from God because He is the only one who has power in Himself. Everything else is delegated from Him. When He created the heavens and the earth, He had all power and authority.

Then in Genesis 1:26, when God created Adam and Eve, He said, “Let them have dominion…over all the earth.” Put that together with Psalm 115:16, which says, “The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.” God had ownership of everything by right of being the Creator, but He gave dominion, or authority, over the earth to physical human beings. Satan has never had the right and power to rule over the earth.

He took it through deceiving man to sin. God gave that power to mankind,
and when man fell, he yielded his God-given authority and power over to the devil.
Satan was never given power by God to oppress man or to rule this earth.
Scripture does say that Satan is the god of this world, but it’s not because God made him the god of this world. God never put Satan in a position above mankind. He gave mankind dominion and authority over this earth. The only reason Satan has ever been able to oppress, dominate, or cause the problems he does is because people yield their God-given authority to him. 

This posed a real problem for God, because He is a Spirit, and He gave authority over this earth to physical human beings. Only people who have physical bodies have the authority and power to rule and exercise influence in this earth. Satan has to come to us and get us to yield our authority to him. That’s the reason that he likes to inhabit a body. In Scripture, demons have to have a body to possess because Satan can’t do anything unless he is using a physical human body to work through. 

Because God is a Spirit and has given authority to physical human beings, now in a sense, He has His hands tied. It isn’t because God doesn’t have power and authority but because of His integrity. He gave authority to physical human beings, and to be true to His own Word, He can’t just take it back and say, 
“This isn’t the way I wanted it; time out, stop, we’re going to do it over.”

 No, -  God bound Himself by His own Word. Throughout history He looked for someone He could flow through, but the problem was that all men were corrupted and had yielded themselves to Satan. So what was He to do?


What God finally did was come to the earth Himself and become a man. This is tremendous when you understand it, because now the devil was in big trouble. He had been using mankind’s power, and God couldn’t intervene directly to solve all these problems, because man was willfully, legally yielding his God-given authority to Satan. Satan was wrong in what he did, but man gave
him the authority and power that was theirs to give. But now, here came God, and He was no longer only the Spirit but was in the form of physical flesh. This put the devil in a bad situation, because God not only had authority in heaven, but becoming a man gave Him authority on the earth.

 Jesus said in John 5:26-27, “For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.”
He was referring to His physical body.

Jesus came and exercised God-given authority. The devil tempted Him, and Jesus never yielded to him. Satan lost in every battle with Him. Then Jesus took our sins, died for them, went to hell, rose again, and said in Matthew 28:18,
 “All authority is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”
He won back the authority God had given mankind, which man misused, and as God in the flesh, Jesus now had all authority in heaven and in earth. In the very next verse He said, “Now you go, and you do these things.”
In effect He was saying, “I now have all authority in heaven and earth, and I’m sharing it with you.”

 This time, however, there’s a unique difference in the authority God has given back to us as believers. It is joint authority between us and the Lord Jesus Christ. It’s no longer given to us solely as it was to Adam and Eve. They could give the authority away, allow the devil to oppress them, and basically be hopeless, but today our authority is shared with the Lord Jesus Christ. 
It’s like having a joint bank account that requires both signatures in order to cash a check. Our authority is shared with the Lord Jesus, and His authority is shared with the church.

Although we may fail, God is never again going to sign this authority over to the devil. Satan is absolutely powerless. He has no ability to do anything in your life except what he deceives you in and what you voluntarily yield to. You may give him authority in your life, you may suffer personally for it, but the God-given authority that was given to man will never again pass solely to the devil.

 It is now shared between us and the Lord Jesus, and He will remain faithful regardless. 

You need to recognize that you’re the one who now has authority and the power. Satan is fighting you with thoughts, and your weapons are such that you can take these thoughts captive. You can recognize that it’s wrong for the devil to oppress you physically and find out what the Scripture has to say about healing. 

John 8:32 says, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” You’re the one who has power and authority. God has given it to you, and the only thing that keeps you from exercising it is that you haven’t yet taken your thoughts captive. You haven’t used these spiritual weapons to renew your mind and to realize what you have.  But it’s encouraging to find out that you’re the one with authority and power.

I pray that you’ll take this, meditate on it, and God will give you the revelation that you’re the one Satan trembles at. You shouldn’t be trembling at Satan, because you are the one who has God-given power and authority. If you resist the devil, he will flee from you (James 4:7).   Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

It’s called evil.

It’s called evil.

We never want to talk about evil in this country, do we? We rarely even say the word. We’re so shallow and distracted in our thinking. Everything has to be political or psychological, easily solved through policies or laws or pharmaceuticals. But all the drugs and legislation in the world won’t change the fact that humans are sinful and angry, and sometimes they do evil things on purpose, and not for any reason other than their own sick lust for vengeance, power, and pleasure.

That’s what I saw when the video of the WDBJ shooting appeared on my newsfeed yesterday morning. I didn’t see the result of “mental illness” or the side effects of bad policies or lax regulation or weak “gun control” or anything else. I saw envy and malice. I saw a man who calculated and planned his sin, then carried it out deliberately. I saw a choice. I saw evil.

I didn’t think, “Oh, if only [fill in the blank] law had been passed, this wouldn’t have happened!” or, “Man, if only the killer had been prescribed [fill in the blank medication] this could have been avoided!” No, I thought, “if only that man with free will and the same selfish, violent, malicious motivations that have inspired literally every act of evil ever committed in the history of mankind hadn’t chosen to act upon them, those two people would still be alive.” If only.

As you’re no doubt aware, yesterday a “disgruntled” former employee of a news station in Virginia murdered a reporter and her cameraman on live TV. Vester Flanagan, also known as Bryce Williams, who is black, updated his social media feeds throughout the attack and in the proceeding hours. He filmed and live Tweeted the murder. He used his Twitter account to promote his Facebook platform during the killing, telling his followers to go check out the other site for footage.
This was a 21st century murder, through and through. And America played along; Thousands of people actually shared the murder video, enticing their Facebook friends and Twitter followers to click and watch two people die on camera.

It’s called evil. This is where it leads.

Obviously, the racial makeup of the incident won’t be particularly useful to the sleazy race hustlers of America, even though some of them couldn’t wait more than a few seconds before embarrassing themselves by publicly assuming the killer was white. But the tool Falanagan used to carry out his deed did provide the mobs an opportunity to make political statements about gun control, literally within minutes of the shooting.
Hillary Clinton politicized the deaths while the bodies were still lying on the pavement. Hollywood actors and media members wasted no time in implicating the NRA. Naturally, the White House manned the battle stations, calling on Congress to pass “common sense gun control.” Other politicians and left wingers around the country joined in the gun control chorus, choosing to make political props of the bodies before they were bagged, let alone buried.

Of course, none of these disgusting opportunists explained how “gun control” could have prevented the massacre. Flanagan owned the handgun legally and had no criminal record. What law could have prohibited him from obtaining the weapon, aside from an across the board ban on all guns everywhere for everyone? Is that what’s being proposed? If not, why bring it up in relation to this story? We’re always told gun confiscation is a hysterical right wing myth, but what other conceivable law could possibly apply to this particular situation?

Meanwhile, Flanagan sent a lengthy manifesto to ABC News before committing suicide. He rambled that he killed Adam Ward and Alison Parker as revenge for the Charleston shooting, declared his intention to start a race war, and complained that he’d been discriminated against for being gay and black. It was the sort of whimpering, whining tale of faux-victimization that we’ve all heard a million times, often promoted by the media or the White House.

I imagine this detail — that he was a racist, black homosexual targeting straight white people — will severely shorten the amount of time this story spends in the headlines. Yet there’s no doubt that if he’d been a homophobic white man murdering gay black people on TV, this would be easily the biggest story of the year. Blatant double standards and all that. We know how it works.

So while it’s still briefly the lead story (or has it already been replaced by Donald Trump?), its worth reflecting on why this sort of thing happens. Not just the shootings, but the crass exploitation on the part of our politicians, our media, and, frankly, a good number of, as Hillary Clinton likes to say, “everyday Americans.”

It’s hard enough to deal with this seemingly constant onslaught of violence and depravity; it’s simply too much to endure, on top of it all, these damned vultures gleefully picking over the warm corpses, searching for a gotcha moment. It’s gross. It’s depressing. It’s sickening. It makes me wonder if many of us can feel anything anymore. Are we just men without chests, like CS Lewis said; vacant inside, hollow? Do we see the death, do we feel the pain, or is it all just a spectacle to us now? Is everything a circus?

Do we spend all of our time ingesting morally ambiguous garbage as entertainment and then struggle, after a while, to tell the difference between the “pretend” despair we wallow in for fun, and the real tragedy actually happening out in the three dimensional world? Or are we so aware of everything, and so pressured to have a perspective about all of it, that for efficiency’s sake we’ve had to stop actually reflecting and thinking about anything? Do we have a kind of industrial conveyor belt system of political prejudices and assumptions in our minds, processing each news item and quickly assembling and churning out a half baked, worthless opinion just so we can keep up with the next guy on Facebook?

I know. You’re going to say: “Well, Matt, isn’t that what you do for a living?” I try not to, I try to find something true and substantive to say, but I’m sure I’ve been guilty of reacting too quickly and too thoughtlessly to things sometimes.

We allow these butchers to accomplish the ultimate feat: not just killing innocent people, but luring the rest of us into participating in their evil. That isn’t to say we are all guilty of murder, but when we exploit a grotesque travesty, using it to make an entirely disingenuous point about gun control or whatever, we disregard the dignity and sacredness and decency and beauty of human life. We play the killer’s game. We look at things through his lens. We dance like puppets for him.

I think part of the problem is that we don’t know what else to do. These days, when some broken, barbaric predator goes out and inflicts his wrath and hatred on unsuspecting victims, we don’t know how to handle it, so we just spout rhetoric and leave it at that. Nothing improves. Nothing ever gets better. But if we could come back to a basic understanding — or at least recognition — of good and evil, then we could begin to understand why bad things happen, and how we might mitigate them in the future.

The answer to the “why,” of course, is evil. Most directly, the evil of the individual man who made a choice to perpetrate this terrible crime. He was not programmed to do what he did — he chose it. I’m sure in the coming days, along with hearing incessantly about the mythical “gun control,” we’ll also be told about his various supposed psychological illnesses. These will both be smokescreens.

Yes, certainly the man had mental problems — if you listen to the Centers for Disease Control, almost half of the country does or will — but most people don’t go out shooting reporters in the head.

What’s the difference, then, between the nonviolent and violent “mentally disordered” person? Answer: choice. One chooses to do evil, the other doesn’t.

No- one not need be a Christian. One need only adhere to the basic tenets of Christian values and hold a reverence for goodness and kindness and uphold long held values that have helped to make this country great.
