What happened - does not look good!

** Read then ask yourself why?
A Pentagon official who asked to remain nameless because they were not authorized to speak on the matter said even “young officers, down through the ranks have been told not to talk about Obama or the politics of the White House. They are purging everyone and if you want to keep your job — just keep your mouth shut.”

Why Are Dozens Of High Ranking Officers Being Purged From The U.S. Military?

Aerial View Of The Pentagon - Photo by Mariordo Camila Ferreira and Mario DuranSince Barack Obama has been in the White House, high ranking military officers have been removed from their positions at a rate that is absolutely unprecedented.  Things have gotten so bad that a number of retired generals are publicly speaking out about the “purge” of the U.S. military that they believe is taking place.  As you will see below, dozens of highly decorated military leaders have been dismissed from their positions over the past few years.  So why is this happening?  When I was growing up, my father was an officer in the U.S. Navy.  And what is going on right now is absolutely crazy – especially during a time of peace.  Is there a deliberate attempt to “reshape” the military and remove those that don’t adhere to the proper “viewpoints”?  Does someone out there feel a need to get officers that won’t “cooperate” out of the way?  Throughout world history, whatever comes next after a “military purge” is never good.  If this continues, what is the U.S. military going to look like in a few years?
Perhaps you are reading this and you think that “purge” is too strong a word for what is taking place.  Well, just consider the following quotes from some very highly decorated retired officers…
-Retired Army Major General Paul Vallely: “The White House protects their own. That’s why they stalled on the investigation into fast and furious, Benghazi and Obamacare. He’s intentionally weakening and gutting our military, Pentagon and reducing us as a superpower, and anyone in the ranks who disagrees or speaks out is being purged.”
-Retired Army Major General Patrick Brady: “There is no doubt he (Obama) is intent on emasculating the military and will fire anyone who disagrees with him.”
-Retired Army Lt. General William G. “Jerry” Boykin: “Over the past three years, it is unprecedented for the number of four-star generals to be relieved of duty, and not necessarily relieved for cause.”
-Retired Navy Captain Joseph John: “I believe there are more than 137 officers who have been forced out or given bad evaluation reports so they will never make Flag (officer), because of their failure to comply to certain views.”
According to the Blaze, one anonymous Pentagon official has said that even young officers have been told “not to talk about Obama or the politics of the White House”…
A Pentagon official who asked to remain nameless because they were not authorized to speak on the matter said even “young officers, down through the ranks have been told not to talk about Obama or the politics of the White House. They are purging everyone and if you want to keep your job — just keep your mouth shut.”
Now this trend appears to be accelerating.  We have seen a whole bunch of news stories about military officers being dismissed lately.
Almost always, a “legitimate reason” is given for the dismissal.  And without a doubt, if a military officer is actually behaving unethically, that officer should be held accountable.
However, the reality is that everyone has “skeletons in the closet”, and if you really want to get rid of someone it is usually not too hard to find a way to justify your decision.
The following are excerpts from three news stories about military officers in trouble that have come out so far in 2014…
#1 The Air Force Times: A group of former Air Force majors, forced out this summer by a noncontinuation board, plans to file a lawsuit claiming the service had no right to separate them simply to meet end-strength numbers set by Congress.
More than 10 of the 157 dismissed majors are banding together to challenge the move in court, seeking either reinstatement or early retirement pay. All 157 had been twice passed over for promotion and were within six years of retirement.
#2 Defense News: Acting US Navy Undersecretary Robert Martinage, the department’s No. 2, has resigned under pressure, sources confirmed for Defense News.
The resignation, which Martinage announced to his staff Tuesday morning, came after allegations were made of inappropriate conduct with a subordinate woman, the sources confirmed.
#3 Huffington Post: The Air Force says 34 nuclear missile launch officers have been implicated in a cheating scandal and have been stripped of their certification in what is believed to be the largest such breach of integrity in the nuclear force.
Some of the officers apparently texted to each other the answers to a monthly test on their knowledge of how to operate the missiles. Others may have known about it but did not report it.
The cheating was discovered during a drug investigation that involves 11 Air Force officers across six bases in the U.S. and England.

Taken alone, it would be easy to dismiss those stories as “coincidences”.  But when you put them together with the stories of dozens of other high ranking military officers that have been purged from the U.S. military in recent years, a very disturbing pattern emerges.

Report: Tens of thousands fled socialized Canadian medicine in 2013

Just note the way the Canadian medical system works or rather does not work!

**  Has anyone in the USA; noticed that the new Natl Health Care System has more problems than answers!

First it must be noted ; that this system appears to be a way to take total control of the USA.  Because it offers an sure fire -
Public I.D. system through the registration of all citizens...   {Except certain groups like the main politicians - The control leaders; who have their own saparate system which is Golden and which they do not have to pay, since the tax payers are footing the bill =  Plus also there are special provisions for certain religious groups (like Islamic) and many Labor Unions or sorted types... }
** How does having a Natl I.D. system in place effect you?   It will not end well for those who are being controlled!

What most of the tax paying citizens {who have been left out of the Golden Parachute Health System} should notice and  question is why!

This is just one of the main problems with the new Natl health (non) Care System...

Does the following artical on the Canadian Health Care system!

===============================================

Every year thousands of Canadian have no choice but to seek medical care outside of the country’s single-payer health care system, according a report from a Canadian free-market think tank.
In 2013, nearly 42,000 Canucks left their homeland to avoid long wait times and inferior care that plagues their centralized health system.
The report from the free-market Fraser Institute found that 41,838 Canadians became “medical tourists” in 2013 and sought care outside of their hockey-loving country. While there were slightly fewer people fleeing the Canadian health system in 2013 than the previous year, the number leaving still amounts to nearly one percent of medical patients in Canada.“Canadians may leave for a number of reasons including a lack of available resources or appropriate technology, a desire to return more quickly to their lives, to seek out superior quality care, or perhaps to save their own lives or avoid the risk of disability,” Nadeem Ismail, director of health policy studies at the Fraser Institute, told The Daily Caller News Foundation.
“That a considerable number of Canadians traveled and paid to escape the well-known failings of the Canadian health care system speaks volumes about how well the system is working for them,” Ismail added.
Each year the Fraser Institute surveys physicians across 12 major medical specialties about how many of their patients received non-emergency care abroad in the past year. The Institute then combines these numbers with data from the Canadian Institute for Health Information.
In 2013, 41,838 Canadians went outside the country to get medical treatment, down from 42,173 people leaving the country in 2012. This is interesting since wait times for patients who had consulted with a specialist till the time they got actual treatment increased from 9.3 weeks in 2012 to 9.6 weeks in 2013.
According to the report, there are many reasons why someone would leave Canada to seek treatment. Including “because of a lack of available resources or the fact that some procedures or equipment are not provided in their home jurisdiction” as well as “concerns about quality, seeking out more advanced healthcare facilities, higher tech medicine, or better outcomes.”

A major problem with the Canadian health system is that people may have fled because of “the consequences of waiting for care such as worsening of their condition, poorer outcomes following treatment, disability or death. And some may have done so simply to avoid delay and to make a quicker return to their life.”
U.S. conservatives have often criticized the Canadian health system as being subpar compared to the American health system. But liberals point to the relatively low-cost, fair alternative to market-driven health care.
In fact, failed Green Party presidential candidate Ralph Nader recently argued that the Canadian system was an even better system than Obamacare.
“Costly complexity is baked into Obamacare. No health insurance system is without problems but Canadian-style single-payer full medicare for all is simple, affordable, comprehensive and universal,” Nader wrote.
Canadians, however, may not always be getting adequate care. Patients have had to suffer through long wait times and lack of specialized medical equipment, according to  the Fraser Institute.
“That a considerable number of Canadians traveled and paid to escape the well-known failings of the Canadian health-care system speaks volumes about how well the system is working for them,” the Fraser Institute says. “It leaves open the question of just how many more Canadians might choose medical tourism outside Canada if given the opportunity.”

Changed Lives....

I have been blessed of the Lord to pray for thousands of people and see awesome miracles. It thrills me to see a person instantly healed or set free.
But do you know what thrills me even more? Having the people I minister to do the same miracles. Hallelujah! That’s my greatest joy.
Hopefully, the day of the one-man show is coming to an end. The only way we are truly going to change our world is to get every believer flowing in the power of the Holy Spirit. The Lord called us to make disciples, not just converts (Matt. 28:19-20). The ministry gifts are to perfect the saints so THEY can do the work of the ministry (Eph. 4:11-13).
From the very start of my ministry, the Lord directed me to take the things I’ve learned and train up faithful men and women who would be able to minister to others (2 Tim. 2:1-2). That’s why I’ve had a teaching ministry. As I’ve gotten older, the urgency is even greater. My time is limited. Anyone who isn’t training up others is ultimately a failure.
I’m glad to report to you that we are seeing more people get hold of the truths of God’s Word than ever before. I am constantly blessed to see others beginning to walk in the supernatural power of God. And these aren’t just full-time ministers. People in every walk of life are experiencing the normal Christian life.
My last trip to Uganda and South Africa, in July of this year, demonstrated this. I took the director of my Television Department with me, and he documented many miraculous testimonies of God’s awesome power. The story that Junade Eso and his wife shared was amazing:
“My wife and I were expecting a child. When the labor began, we went to the local hospital, which really wasn’t very good. After twenty-seven hours of very difficult labor, the baby was in trouble. When he was born, he was blue. There was no heartbeat and he was not breathing, nothing. He was dead. The nurses and the doctors were in a panic trying to resuscitate baby Benjamin (that was the name we gave him later).
“Let me stop here and say that a few weeks before the birth, my wife and I had been listening to Andrew’s preaching. His teachings on unbelief, The Believer’s Authority, andYou’ve Already Got it! were affecting our lives and changing our outlook on Christianity.

“All I could think about while they were working on Benjamin’s lifeless body was speaking the Word of God and speaking the promises of God over his life. My wife wasn’t doing well after the delivery, but she continued to quote the Word. ‘You will live, and you will not die,’ she would say.
“I must say I was subject to unbelief because all the doctors and nurses were in such a panic. So I called my pastor who couldn’t see what was happening. I told him we needed to pray, and he asked if Benjamin was alive. And I said, ‘No, there is nothing happening, and they’re doing CPR on him now.’
“So we prayed and immediately after we said amen, I just took my eyes off the circumstances, focused on the Word of God, and Benjamin took his first breath. It was like our first breath as well. The scriptures that Andrew had taught us about speaking to the problem and the mountain just kept going through my mind. So every time the doctor gave a bad report, I would speak just the opposite.
“Benjamin was alive now, but the doctor said that because of the lack of oxygen, he would have brain damage. He said that on a scale of one to fifteen, he was a ten and would be retarded. There was nothing they could do. We continued to block out the negative and focus on the Word, as Andrew had taught us.
“Benjamin is ten months old now, and the doctors say that he has experienced an absolute miracle. We have become partners with Andrew and have seen fruit on the left, right, and center as we experience more freedom in serving God.”

I saw Benjamin. I held him as his parents gave this testimony. He was perfect in every way. Thank You, Jesus! I wasn’t there physically when this happened, but God had sent His Word through my television broadcasts and teaching materials ahead of time. Little Benjamin is alive and well today because his parents heard the truth of God’s Word and believed.

That is just one of the tremendous testimonies we heard in Africa on my last visit. My cameraman put over a dozen testimonies on a disk for me to watch. I was really touched. I knew right then that I needed to get these testimonies out to my partners. These are real faith builders, and I especially want you to see what your partnership is accomplishing in the lives of people all around the world.

These testimonies all underscore the importance of what this ministry is all about. I am not trying to draw people to myself or build my kingdom. I know what the strength of my ministry is. It’s not my personality; it’s the message. The nearly-too-good-to-be-true Gospel is powerful, and it will produce supernatural results when received and believed.
I believe this is why the Lord led me to start Charis Bible College fifteen years ago. We are now training up thousands of men and women in thirteen schools around the world, and they are doing greater works than we have done. Indeed, Jesus told us we would do the same and greater works than He did if we would just believe (John 14:12).
In January of 2010, we will be opening up two new CBC schools: one in Kampala, Uganda, and the other in Heidelberg, South Africa. We just opened a new school in Chennai, India, last August, and there will be one opening in Hungary soon.
We are also working on an online Charis Bible College, and the Lord has directed me to expand our college to include a third-year program specifically designed to give our students the tools they need to go straight from Bible college into leadership positions in the church.
At a time when many Christian organizations are cutting back in fear of the economy, we are expanding more than ever before. The Lord has just blessed us with a beautiful, new piece of property that we will be developing into a ministry campus to reach farther with theGospel Truth than ever before. We are bursting at the seams. We’ll share more about that later.
Our college in Colorado Springs has increased nearly 50 percent over last year. Even though we lost one of our networks in April, which produced 10 percent of our calls, the call volume in our Phone Center has increased nearly 10 percent. People are calling and receiving like never before. During a time of “recession,” our ministry has grown.

It’s our time. The darker this world gets, the brighter our light shines. I’m convinced the Lord is ready to move through us in an even greater way.

I believe it is very important for you to hear these testimonies. I asked my staff to edit a dozen of them and put them in DVD format. Two of the stories involve children who were raised from the dead, one is a miraculous recovery from a heart attack, and all of them focuses on the life-changing power of God’s Word.
This new DVD, called Changed Lives, Africa 2009, is a must to watch. It shows how important it is to teach the Gospel truth and send this message of God’s unconditional love and grace around the world. Order one for you, your family, and your friends. I believe this will affect you in a powerful way, just as it has me.
The lives that are being changed in Africa and in other places like India, Russia, and Hungary are the result of what we are doing through AWM World Outreach. That is the ministry arm that we use to support these schools and the missionaries that have graduated from CBC and launched extension schools.
This is a separate arm of AWM, and we only mail updates to those who specifically sign up to receive World Outreach information. You will be helping to change lives around the world. You can become a regular monthly partner through the website or by calling our Helpline.

The hand of the Lord is moving mightily in this ministry. Thank you for being a part of it. Without you, we could not accomplish what the Lord is leading us to do.

God's Love changes everything else...

One of the best things that ever happened to me occurred when I laid "self " aside and then gave my time and efforts to others...   It may not be popular or so what if they hate you as long as you stick with the truth and love God with all your heart; it does not really matter!    Because it is better to be blessed  when you give rather than striving to get or receive all the time!   Then you are finding out that you are not the center of the universe; which actually can be fun!

Many Americans have developed a welfare state of being!  Their entire existence is to see what they can get from others {Usually Government}....  They develop a welfare {spoiled} mentality!  Most of this group of people are self centered brats {annoying self serving, non caring}, who think that everyone owes them something!  Wrong answer; because no one really owes you anything once you become an adult; you should fin for yourself!

If you are capable of working then get a job! Because if you can not provide for yourself better than government welfare, you have already got one foot in the grave!  Anyone who strives to support them self will find that God will show you how to beat welfare!  He can lead you step by step toward a more prosperous and happy life!   Try it!

Sorry if this ruffles your feathers, but God made you to be a person who should be productive and learn to give not just sit back and receive!  Now we know that are some {very few} who are physically or mentally limited and need more help than they can muster! This is understandable...  Then there is the temporary case where people have some hardship come upon them or accident which require some help for a limited {short as possible} who need help ...   But here in the USA we now have several generations of certain people who have settled down on the Welfare Plantation for the rest of their life!  Why?

It is a sad state of affairs where any group of people expect to exist on the back or support of others for their existence!  You are not here just to live off the society!   Change your mindset!  Quit being so self-centered! Stop sitting around just soaking up other people's resources and start becoming productive!

Conclusion:

 Self centered people constantly think:

 - What can I get?
 - What will I receive out of this relationship?
 - What can this church do for me?
 - Why they done this or that for me?
 - How come I do not have anything?
 - Woe is me  no one cares?

Start thinking:

 - How can I be a blessing or help to others?
 - How can God use me to meet other people's needs?
 - How can I contribute to others?

**  Part of my High School Motto was : " to make this a better place for my having been here!"
This has been a guide post in my life; where I have been able to help others; like writing blogs!

So do not go around pointing fingers at others {looking to blame or shame}; quit thinking " they don't deserve it!  because truthfully you don't either just call it even and start attempting to out-give others!
Learn to serve others, which will Bless you and them...  Ask how can I be a Blessing?

God rewards people who stops to help others {the Good Samaritan} because all these blessings a holy!

Luke 10:25-37

New International Version (NIV)

The Parable of the Good Samaritan

25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”
27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’[a]; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b]
28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”
29 But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
30 In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32 So too, a Levitt, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denarii[c] and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’
36 “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”
37 The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”
Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

The real meaning of Christmas

Meaning of Christmas

Monday 19 th December , 2011
By kerminator

Every one should know that there is a reason of our life and that Christmas has direct bearing…

But how and why?

What is the purpose of life?

How does Christmas effect your life?

The purpose of life falls into several different areas;

1) the Main reason God make humans which so that they could learn to love and praise Him!

2) from the human perspective the reason for most  people is to seek pleasure and pursue self indulgence!

3) yet except for the birth of Christ; there would not be any real future, beyond this world!

Having  followed the purpose and meaning of Christmas; we should have learned that without Christmas this world would be truly lost!

If people would take time to check the truth of the  meaning of Christmas; they would find that there is a purpose and reason for the even…  it marks a change in the world unparalleled…

One Solitary Life

He was born in an obscure village
The child of a peasant woman
He grew up in another obscure village
Where he worked in a carpenter shop
Until he was thirty  He never wrote a book
He never held an office
He never went to college
He never visited a big city
He never travelled more than two hundred miles
From the place where he was born
He did none of the things
Usually associated with greatness
He had no credentials but himself
He was only thirty three
His friends ran away
One of them denied him
He was turned over to his enemies
And went through the mockery of a trial
He was nailed to a cross between two thieves
While dying, his executioners gambled for his clothing
The only property he had on earth
When he was dead
He was laid in a borrowed grave
Through the pity of a friend
Nineteen centuries have come and gone
And today Jesus is the central figure of the human race
And the leader of mankind’s progress
All the armies that have ever marched
All the navies that have ever sailed
All the parliaments that have ever sat
All the kings that ever reigned put together
Have not affected the life of mankind on earth
As powerfully as that one solitary life

Christianity is about a relationship with a risen savior

Belief or following;  Jesus,  or Joshua, or Yesuha is actually a relationship with Almighty God!  Jesus has had more impact on mankind for good than any other person:  period!

If you look like at all the rest of the so called  prophets, wise men or religious leaders in history, you will not find the complete history to back up or show the depth which comes from the Holy Bible!

The Bible was written over a 2500 year period; by over forty (40) different authors;  It is the Only Book ever written which covers the Creation, the agonizing journey of mankind and then the end of the ages…

Where as all other so called holy books were written by a very few men during one contemporary lifetime! Generally these so called religious writings require strict rules and many difficult life changes…  So why chase after and look to such limited means!

So when you stop and consider Christmas and it’s message about the Birth of Christ; who came as God in human form to provide a direct link for mankind to be redeemed – you must realize that it is something of very different importance!

Here is the summery of Christmas in a song by a wonderful young woman who uses her God given talent to place the Divine message for us all to hear and know! There is really no excuse for not understanding why Christ came and then how & why He died for you; friend! Accept it as your salvation is near! Amen!

Can you survive?

Is a survival compound your best bet?

If all the chatter on survival forums and in survival blogs is true, a compound of like-minded survivalists and/or preppers is the best way to prepare for the future.  This opinion was voiced by a friend of ours last night, and I've been thinking about it.

The truth is, there are several drawbacks to the classic survival compound.

1.  I can't think of a more effective way of placing a big bullseye on an individual or family than to be a part of an easily identifiable compound.  Just as everyone in Waco, Texas knew who the Branch Davidians were, it won't take long before the folks in town know about you and your fellow survivalists.

2.  The feds have infiltrated militia groups, and there's no reason to think they won't infiltrate survival and prepper groups.  After all, we seem to be on their "enemies list".

3.  Ever heard of the saying, "Familiarity breeds contempt"?  When people live too close to each other and are too dependent on each other, conflict is inevitable.  After all, a lot of people have a love/hate relationship with their own family members and everyone in the compound will be well-armed!

4.  Survival-types tend to be very strong and independent minded and such people often find it hard to make all the compromises necessary when it comes to co-existing with others in a tight community.

5.  No matter how many commonalities you may have with other group members, schisms between individuals and groups will appear.  Even if everyone in your compound was of the same race, religion, and political party, there will still be differences of opinion that may become quite heated over time.

6.  George Orwell said it best, "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."  Going in, it may seem as if everyone in the compound is on equal footing, but how long will that last?  How will goods, services, and skills be shared and distributed?  Some families will have more financial resources than others.  Will they be expected to share?

Is there a better solution?  Survivalist writer Bruce Clayton recommends moving to a village where a support system is already in place, rather than creating one from scratch.  Meet-up groups are one way of getting in touch with others who are like-minded, because even in the largest of cities, there are many, many survival-minded people out there.

I've been talking about assessing the survivability of your own home and neighborhood on my Radio Hour.  You can listen to this on Shows #16 and #17 here.

As always, hope for the best but be prepared for the worst.

Dr. Martin L King was a Repubilician

Here are some facts that a certain political party will not tell you!

Why Martin Luther King Was Republican

by  Frances Rice
08/16/2006

It should come as no surprise that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican. In that era, almost all black Americans were Republicans. Why? From its founding in 1854 as the anti-slavery party until today, the Republican Party has championed freedom and civil rights for blacks. And as one pundit so succinctly stated, the Democrat Party is as it always has been, the party of the four S's: slavery, secession, segregation and now socialism.

It was the Democrats who fought to keep blacks in slavery and passed the discriminatory Black Codes and Jim Crow laws. The Democrats started the Ku Klux Klan to lynch and terrorize blacks. The Democrats fought to prevent the passage of every civil rights law beginning with the civil rights laws of the 1860s, and continuing with the civil rights laws of the 1950s and 1960s.

During the civil rights era of the 1960s, Dr. King was fighting the Democrats who stood in the school house doors, turned skin-burning fire hoses on blacks and let loose vicious dogs. It was Republican President Dwight Eisenhower who pushed to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1957 and sent troops to Arkansas to desegregate schools. President Eisenhower also appointed Chief Justice Earl Warren to the U.S. Supreme Court, which resulted in the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education decision ending school segregation. Much is made of Democrat President Harry Truman's issuing an Executive Order in 1948 to desegregate the military. Not mentioned is the fact that it was Eisenhower who actually took action to effectively end segregation in the military.

Democrat President John F. Kennedy is lauded as a proponent of civil rights. However, Kennedy voted against the 1957 Civil Rights Act while he was a senator, as did Democrat Sen. Al Gore Sr. And after he became President, Kennedy was opposed to the 1963 March on Washington by Dr. King that was organized by A. Phillip Randolph, who was a black Republican. President Kennedy, through his brother Atty. Gen. Robert Kennedy, had Dr. King wiretapped and investigated by the FBI on suspicion of being a Communist in order to undermine Dr. King.

In March of 1968, while referring to Dr. King's leaving Memphis, Tenn., after riots broke out where a teenager was killed, Democrat Sen. Robert Byrd (W.Va.), a former member of the Ku Klux Klan, called Dr. King a "trouble-maker" who starts trouble, but runs like a coward after trouble is ignited. A few weeks later, Dr. King returned to Memphis and was assassinated on April 4, 1968.

Given the circumstances of that era, it is understandable why Dr. King was a Republican. It was the Republicans who fought to free blacks from slavery and amended the Constitution to grant blacks freedom (13th Amendment), citizenship (14th Amendment) and the right to vote (15th Amendment). Republicans passed the civil rights laws of the 1860s, including the Civil Rights Act of 1866 and the Reconstruction Act of 1867 that was designed to establish a new government system in the Democrat-controlled South, one that was fair to blacks. Republicans also started the NAACP and affirmative action with Republican President Richard Nixon's 1969 Philadelphia Plan (crafted by black Republican Art Fletcher) that set the nation's fist goals and timetables. Although affirmative action now has been turned by the Democrats into an unfair quota system, affirmative action was begun by Nixon to counter the harm caused to blacks when Democrat President Woodrow Wilson in 1912 kicked all of the blacks out of federal government jobs.

Few black Americans know that it was Republicans who founded the Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Unknown also is the fact that Republican Sen. Everett Dirksen from Illinois was key to the passage of civil rights legislation in 1957, 1960, 1964 and 1965. Not mentioned in recent media stories about extension of the 1965 Voting Rights Act is the fact that Dirksen wrote the language for the bill. Dirksen also crafted the language for the Civil Rights Act of 1968 which prohibited discrimination in housing. President Lyndon Johnson could not have achieved passage of civil rights legislation without the support of Republicans.

Critics of Republican Sen. Barry Goldwater, who ran for President against Johnson in 1964, ignore the fact that Goldwater wanted to force the Democrats in the South to stop passing discriminatory laws and thus end the need to continuously enact federal civil rights legislation.

Those who wrongly criticize Goldwater also ignore the fact that Johnson, in his 4,500 State of the Union Address delivered on Jan. 4, 1965, mentioned scores of topics for federal action, but only 35 words were devoted to civil rights. He did not mention one word about voting rights. Then in 1967, showing his anger with Dr. King's protest against the Vietnam War, Johnson referred to Dr. King as "that Nigger preacher."

Contrary to the false assertions by Democrats, the racist "Dixiecrats" did not all migrate to the Republican Party. "Dixiecrats" declared that they would rather vote for a "yellow dog" than vote for a Republican because the Republican Party was know as the party for blacks. Today, some of those "Dixiecrats" continue their political careers as Democrats, including Robert Byrd, who is well known for having been a "Keagle" in the Ku Klux Klan.

Another former "Dixiecrat" is former Democrat Sen. Ernest Hollings, who put up the Confederate flag over the state Capitol when he was the governor of South Carolina. There was no public outcry when Democrat Sen. Christopher Dodd praised Byrd as someone who would have been "a great senator for any moment," including the Civil War. Yet Democrats denounced then-Senate GOP leader Trent Lott for his remarks about Sen. Strom Thurmond (R.-S.C.). Thurmond was never in the Ku Klux Klan and defended blacks against lynching and the discriminatory poll taxes imposed on blacks by Democrats. If Byrd and Thurmond were alive during the Civil War, and Byrd had his way, Thurmond would have been lynched.

The 30-year odyssey of the South switching to the Republican Party began in the 1970s with President Richard Nixon's "Southern Strategy," which was an effort on the part of Nixon to get Christians in the South to stop voting for Democrats who did not share their values and were still discriminating against their fellow Christians who happened to be black. Georgia did not switch until 2002, and some Southern states, including Louisiana, are still controlled by Democrats.

Today, Democrats, in pursuit of their socialist agenda, are fighting to keep blacks poor, angry and voting for Democrats. Examples of how egregiously Democrats act to keep blacks in poverty are numerous.

After wrongly convincing black Americans that a minimum wage increase was a good thing, the Democrats on August 3 kept their promise and killed the minimum wage bill passed by House Republicans on July 29. The blockage of the minimum wage bill was the second time in as many years that Democrats stuck a legislative finger in the eye of black Americans. Senate Democrats on April 1, 2004, blocked passage of a bill to renew the 1996 welfare reform law that was pushed by Republicans and vetoed twice by President Clinton before he finally signed it. Since the welfare reform law expired in September 2002, Congress had passed six extensions, and the latest expired on June 30, 2004. Opposed by the Democrats are school choice opportunity scholarships that would help black children get out of failing schools and Social Security reform, even though blacks on average lose $10,000 in the current system because of a shorter life expectancy than whites (72.2 years for blacks vs. 77.5 years for whites).

Democrats have been running our inner-cities for the past 30 to 40 years, and blacks are still complaining about the same problems. More than $7 trillion dollars have been spent on poverty programs since Lyndon Johnson's War on Poverty with little, if any, impact on poverty. Diabolically, every election cycle, Democrats blame Republicans for the deplorable conditions in the inner-cities, then incite blacks to cast a protest vote against Republicans.

In order to break the Democrats' stranglehold on the black vote and free black Americans from the Democrat Party's economic plantation, we must shed the light of truth on the Democrats. We must demonstrate that the Democrat Party policies of socialism and dependency on government handouts offer the pathway to poverty, while Republican Party principles of hard work, personal responsibility, getting a good education and ownership of homes and small businesses offer the pathway to prosperity.
