The Four Feathers is a 1902 adventure novel by British writer A.E.W.
Mason that has inspired many films of the same title. We will consider
the 2002 film version:
By 1884 over a quarter of the earth's surface had been conquered by the
British Army. Plus all the world's oceans were ruled by the Royal Navy
(which accounts for 70% of the world) There was no greater honor for a
young man at that time than to fight for Queen and Country.
Those that refused the call to arms brought shame and humiliation on their friends and families... And the nation!
Title Card: The Symbol of their disgrace was the white feather of cowardice...
This is a movie based upon the conflict in Sudan; between the British Army who is putting down an Islamic Jihad...
HISTORY
Sudan was a collection of small, independent kingdoms and principalities
from the beginning of the Christian era (History shows that at the end
of his ministry Saint John, had come done into Ethiopia and this area of
the Sufan where he preached the Christian Gospel) until 1820-21 when
Egypt conquered and unified the northern portion of the country.
However, neither the Egyptian nor the Mahdist state (1883-1898) had any
effective control of the southern region outside of a few garrisons.
Southern Sudan remained an area of fragmented tribes, subject to
frequent attacks by BLACK slave raiders.
In 1881, a religious leader named Muhammad ibn Abdalla proclaimed
himself the Mahdi, or the "expected one," and began a religious crusade
to unify the tribes in western and central Sudan. His followers took on
the name "Ansars" (the followers) which they continue to use today and
are associated with the single largest political grouping, the Umma
Party, led by a descendant of the Mahdi, Sadiq al Mahdi.
Taking advantage of dissatisfaction resulting from Ottoman-Egyptian
exploitation and maladministration, the Mahdi led a nationalist revolt
culminating in the fall of Khartoum in 1885. The Mahdi died shortly
thereafter, but his state survived until overwhelmed by an invading
Anglo-Egyptian force under Lord Kitchener in 1898. While nominally
administered jointly by Egypt and Britain, Britain exercised control,
formulated policies, and supplied most of the top administrators.
Independence
In February 1953, the United Kingdom and Egypt concluded an agreement
providing for Sudanese self-government and self-determination. The
transitional period toward independence began with the inauguration of
the first parliament in 1954. With the consent of the British and
Egyptian Governments, Sudan achieved independence on January 1, 1956,
under a provisional constitution. This constitution was silent on two
crucial issues for southern leaders--the secular or Islamic character of
the state and its federal or unitary structure. However, the Arab-led
Khartoum government reneged on promises to southerners to create a
federal system, which led to a mutiny by southern army officers that
launched 17 years of civil war (1955-72).
This movie is based upon the latter 1800s in Sudan

Conversation after Abou Fatma {Black African Former Aid to General
Gorden} had rescued the British Officer Harry Faversham {deserter} from
wandering alone across the desert in Sudan!
Abou Fatma: Are you a deserter?
Harry Faversham: Something like that. I was sent to fight and I ran away.
Abou Fatma: Why?
Harry Faversham: Why? I just... There are many reasons why. Mostly I was afraid.
Abou Fatma: [laughs] I found you half dead crossing the desert alone. And you say you are afraid?
Harry Faversham: There's a different kind of fear. Why are you protecting me?
Abou Fatma: Because God put you in my pathway. I have no choice.
Harry Faversham: God? For An Englishman... and a Christian? Abou Fatma: You must have done something terrible to offend Him.
Abou Fatma continues on to help and protect Harry, even going to prison
with him; always protecting him from the very face of death. A true
friend!
Why because God placed Harry in his pathway of life!
Then later after the Regiment has returned to England, one of Harry's
friends, another Officer Jack (one who had given him one a white
feather) addresses the assembled Regiment and tells what the real
meaning of comradeship and the bond of friendship that exist among a
band of brothers!
Jack Durrance: Speaking of those who did not return:
You may be lost, but you are not forgotten. Those who have traveled far,
to fight in foreign lands, know that the soldier's greatest comfort is
to have his friends close at hand. In the heat of battle, it ceases to
be an idea for which we fight. Not for the Queen, or the flag, nor for
country! Rather we fight for the man on our left, and we fight for the
man on our right. And when all the armies are scattered and all the
empires fall away, all that remains is the memory of those precious
moments that we spent side by side, friends, to the end! This is true
Camaraderie!
These are some examples of true friendship!
If you get yourself out of the picture; just maybe you can learn to become a true friend!

Have you stopped to see who God has placed upon your pathway of life?

The interview is itself also a chance to observe a couple doing something that research shows is good for marriage: reminisce together as they look back on their relationship.
You and your partner need a similar worldview
Yet, despite how often we hear about the importance of good communication, even the best communication skills won’t help a couple that sees the world completely differently.
One of the texts used in the course, Will Our Love Last? by Sam R. Hamburg, argues that people can be incredibly proficient communicators, yet never see eye to eye because they simply can’t understand how their partner can hold a position they see as untenable.
“For people to be happy in their marriage they must be able to understand not just what their partner is saying, but the experience behind the words,” writes Hamburg. If partners are unable to do that, “they cannot understand what it’s like to be their partner—to understand their partner empathically - and the best communication in the world won’t help.”
The instructors teach students that once they learn to identify what is important to them, what values they hold, what they like to do on a daily basis, and what their sexual preferences are in other words, once they know who they are , they will then be in a much stronger position to be able to recognize when they are with a partner who is compatible and shares their worldview.
Ben Eisenberg, who majored in learning and organizational change at Northwestern, took the course last year as a senior, right after the breakup of a long-term relationship. He found it enlightening as he looked back at his past and towards his future. “Pairing up with a partner is one of the biggest decisions you’ll make in life, more important than some of the other things you’ll learn in college,”
He mused. Among other things, he learned to recognize that the more aligned you are on certain crucial dimensions such as day-to-day compatibility, or whether you are on the same wavelength about larger issues
The better off you’ll be as a couple. He learned that all the communication skills in the world won’t help if you haven’t learned how to recognize and invite in a compatible partner. “How similarly you spend your day, your money, how you view the world, greatly affects that day-to-day happiness with your partner, more than whether you have initial attraction.”
If a person is self-centered and not really concerned which how to live with with another person - then most likely there will be a sad and bad relationship! = Seek the Best of a beloved marriage, by seeking the Truth of Learning\how to live with someone in the state of Marriage - which is what God wanted from Marriage upon this earth!

Spinach is undeniably a versatile green vegetable – not only healthy and delicious, it’s also known for being the world’s easiest side dish – simply poke the bag with a fork, microwave and it’s ready to go.
But what of its acclaimed health benefits? We asked Dr Carrie Ruxton, a dietitian for the Health and Food Supplements Information Service, about the benefits and the myths behind Popeye’s leafy green vegetable of choice.
“Spinach is one of your five-a-day as well as being a powerhouse of vital nutrients, such as vitamins A, C & K, potassium, calcium, magnesium, folate and iron,” explains Dr Ruxton. Green vegetables like spinach are also known for their high zinc content, which is important in any diet but especially for vegans.
“It also contains a small amount of dietary fibre which is great for gut health, and natural bioactive substances called carotenoids which are found in carrots too.”
“Spinach is a quick way to top up on the nutrients that women often lack,” says Dr Ruxton. “The benefits of the nutrients in spinach mostly relate to bone health (calcium, magnesium and vitamin K), skin and eye health (vitamin A, vitamin C and carotenoids), reproductive health (folate) and energy levels (iron).
“However, it’s worth noting that only 10% of the iron in spinach gets absorbed so you’d be better off taking a multi-nutrient supplement if you’re concerned about low iron levels. Around a third of women have low iron stores in their bodies.”
Spinach is naturally rich in compounds called nitrates which can promote heart health. In fact, some studies have suggested that nitrate-rich foods, such as spinach, may also help heart attack survival.
Spinach also contains high levels of zeaxanthin and lutein (powerful antioxidants) which are linked to improving eye health.
Several studies indicate that zeaxanthin and lutein work to prevent macular degeneration and cataracts, which are major causes of blindness.

According to research, eating just one cup of leafy green vegetables every day could boost muscle function.
The 2021 study, published in the Journal of Nutrition from Edith Cowan University, Australia, found that people who consumed a nitrate-rich diet, predominantly from vegetables, had significantly better muscle function of their lower limb.
However, some nutritionists remain unconvinced.
“This new Australian research is simply a survey, not a clinical trial,” says Dr Ruxton. “And diets were measured in a very basic way using a questionnaire. We simply don’t know what else the green vegetable consumers in this study were doing in their diets and lifestyles that could have helped their muscle function. A recent clinical trial giving athletes mashed spinach – rich in nitrates – found no effects on muscle function.”
So, by weight, typical kale does contain more calcium and vitamin B6 than typical spinach, but kale contains less iron, magnesium or potassium than spinach.
Either way, there’s no evidence to suggest that eating plenty of fruit and vegetables with kale is any better than eating plenty of them without.
A really versatile lunch is a spinach salad with grapefruit segments, chickpeas, cubes of apple, red pepper slices and chopped parsley.
Whizz this spinach berry smoothie together after a workout to reap the nutritional benefits. 300ml of water, baby spinach, blueberries, raspberries, a scoop of yoghurt, one tablespoon of your favourite protein powder, one teaspoon honey and blend until smooth.
Spinach can also be steamed and served with a lean beef steak and roasted sweet potato chips, “adding red meat to spinach actually boosts the iron absorption,” says Dr Ruxton.
How was it? Save stories you love and never lose them.

If you’re having issues with your partner, one of you might need a nice dose of humility.
The ConversationRead when you’ve got time to spare.
Passion and commitment are widely believed to be the foundation of strong romantic relationships.
But a relationship is made of two unique individuals, and personality traits these individuals possess or lack can often make a relationship more likely to endure.
In a 2019 study, we found that one trait in particular – humility – is an important indicator of successful relationships.
Humility can sometimes be confused with low self-esteem, low confidence or meekness.
But researchers have come to realize that being humble generally indicates the presence of deeply admirable personal qualities. It means you have the ability to accurately assess your deficiencies without denying your skills and strengths.
For example, you might recognize that you’re smart but realize it would be absurd to call yourself all-knowing – especially when the scope of human knowledge is so vast. This is an honest and sober view of your shortcomings.
As the philosopher Jason Baehr has argued, “To be humble is to be attentive to and disposed to ‘own’ one’s limitations, weaknesses, and mistakes. A humble person does not ignore, avoid, or try to deny her limits or deficiencies.”
If you’re humble, you lack a host of negative qualities, such as arrogance and overconfidence. It means you can acknowledge mistakes, see value in things that are riddled with imperfections and identify areas for improvement.
Humility appears to be a huge asset to relationships. One study found that people tend to rate this quality highly in their significant other. It also found that someone who is humble is more likely to initiate a romantic relationship, perhaps because they’re less likely to see themselves as “too good” for someone else.
But in our study, we wanted to explore the link between humility and forgiveness in couples.
Humility is tricky to measure; we worried that people who were arrogant might presumptuously declare their humility, while people who were actually humble would, as a sign of their humility, downplay this trait.
So we approached this question by asking each partner in a romantic relationship about their own and their partner’s humility. We hoped that even if a truly humble person didn’t consider themselves humble, at least their partner would recognize this trait.
We asked 284 couples from the Detroit metropolitan area questions about how humble they were, how humble they thought their partner was and if they were likely to forgive their partner if they did something that was hurtful, like insulting them.
We found that people who felt their partner or spouse was humble were more likely to forgive them following a hurtful situation. This wasn’t true, however, of those who felt their partner or spouse was arrogant. Many of our respondents with arrogant partners indicated that because their partners were less likely to admit to any personal failings, they were less likely forgive them.
Interestingly, the strength of an individual’s social network can play a role too. If someone has a humble partner, they’re more likely to forgive that person. If someone has a lot of close, supportive friends and a humble partner, they’ll be even more likely to forgive that partner after he or she has screwed up. But if your partner is arrogant, it doesn’t matter how many great friends the couple has, they’ll still be less likely to be forgiven.
The ability to forgive is so important because pain is an inevitable part of any relationship. People mess up. They might say something they don’t mean, be unknowingly inconsiderate or forget an important event. So when looking for a partner, it’s probably a good idea to find someone who recognizes that making mistakes is part of being human.

Vitamins are substances that your body needs to grow and develop normally.
There are 13 vitamins your body needs.
They are:
Vitamin A
B vitamins (thiamine,
riboflavin, niacin,
pantothenic acid, biotin,
vitamin B-6, vitamin B-12 and
folate)
Vitamin C
Vitamin D
Vitamin E
Vitamin K
** You can usually get all your vitamins from the proper foods you eat.
Your body can also make vitamins D and K. People who eat a vegetarian
diet may need to take a vitamin B12 supplement.
Each vitamin has specific jobs. If you have low levels of certain
vitamins, you may get health problems. For example, if you don't get
enough vitamin C, you could become anemic. Some vitamins may help
prevent medical problems. Vitamin A prevents night blindness.
The best way to get enough vitamins is to eat a balanced diet with a variety of foods.
In some cases, you may need to take vitamin supplements. It's a good
idea to ask your health care provider first. High doses of some vitamins
can cause problems.

What Do Supplements Do?
Whether they’re spilling out of your medicine cabinet or filling your
bathroom countertop, you’re not alone if you’re one of the millions of
Americans who take a vitamin or supplement each day.
You may be trying to combat a vitamin deficiency or lower your risk of
certain diseases —- or you may just feel proactive about your health
after popping a supplement that promises to improve your health.
From vitamin A to zinc, Americans have been taking dietary supplements
for decades. When supplements first became available in the 1940s,
people flocked to local drug stores to stock up on these supposedly
magical pills to improve their overall health and well-being — and they
never stopped.
Available-for-purchase consumer survey reaffirms the vital role supplementation plays in the lives of most Americans
Washington, D.C., September 30, 2019—In its 20th year, the CRN Consumer
Survey on Dietary Supplements reveals the highest overall dietary
supplement usage to date, with 77 percent of Americans reporting they
consume dietary supplements.
The survey reports the majority of both males and females, aged 18+,
take dietary supplements, which is in line with previous surveys’
findings. Among all the age groups, adults between the ages 35 – 54 have
the highest usage of dietary supplements at 81 percent.
“While the industry continues to innovate, there is no denying that
these regulated products have become mainstream. More than three
quarters of Americans are taking dietary supplements each year—a crystal
clear trend that serves as an indicator of the vital role
supplementation plays in their overall health and wellness regimens,”
said Nancy Weindruch, vice president, communications, Council for
Responsible Nutrition (CRN).
Who Takes Dietary Supplements? 77 percent of U.S. adults take dietary supplements.

81 percent of adults who are married
73 percent of adults who live in the Northeast
74 percent of adults who live in the Midwest
80 percent of adults who live in the South
78 percent of adults who live in the West
With respect to the types of supplements being taken, CRN’s 2019 survey
found that vitamins & minerals continue to be the most commonly
consumed supplement category, with 76 percent of Americans having taken
these products in the past twelve months.
The second most popular category is specialty supplements (40 percent),
followed by herbals and botanicals (39 percent), sports nutrition
supplements (28 percent), and weight management supplements (17
percent).
The rise of modern medicine and pharmacology
Around the mid-19th century however, modern medicine arose. Compounds
were extracted from plants and botanical s to create the world’s first
pharmaceuticals, and pharmacology was born. Not soon after, practicing
any type of medicine legally required a college degree and medical
license.
This slowly replaced and out competed traditional herbal healing
approaches to health problems over time. By the mid-20th century,
doctors no longer practiced any type of herbal ism. Herbal healing was no
longer taught in medical schools, either.
Outside of the rapidly growing medical-industrial complex, however,
value for herbal remedies continued to survive elsewhere: in the form of
health foods and, as they’re called today, supplements.

** If you can not get your diet under control, then most likely you will not be satisfied or generally unhappy and comfortable with yourself! Stop and look at your diet; exactly what and how you eat!
Because it can kill you!
Life is a choice and based upon your sense of learning and application! Don't blame your failures on anyone else! It is your responsibility and duty to learn and apply how well you want to live in this life!

“Something society doesn’t quite grasp yet is that weight is really, really hard to control,” she says. “When somebody gains weight or their diet fails, they blame themselves rather than the thousands of forces that are conspiring to keep that weight on and to make you gain more weight.”
A big part of the explanation lies in genetics; some people’s bodies store fat more readily than others, says Lofton. But there are plenty of other variables, including their activity level, how much sleep a person is getting, and what medications they’re taking.
There’s evidence, for example, that a poor night’s sleep disrupts levels of hunger-controlling hormones, leading to an increased appetite. And people who regularly work night shifts tend to gain more weight over time than daytime workers. “That can be really confusing for the body and people’s eating habits, if they’re working the overnight shift and sleeping poorly,” says Linda Antinoro, a registered dietician in the Nutrition and Wellness Service at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
A person’s job is just one part of their food environment—the context in which people make decisions about what to eat. For many Americans, what’s most readily available are so-called ultra-processed foods. Researchers are still trying to figure out whether the additives and preservatives in these foods can affect our metabolisms, Lofton says.
Hall and his colleagues are investigating the role that a person’s food environment plays in weight gain. In one experiment, participants who were offered ultra-processed foods such as Honey Nut Cheerios and margarine wound up eating about 500 calories per day more than people given whole foods such as apple slices and olive oil. This effect is particularly striking since the meals in each diet had the same amounts of fat, sugar, and other nutrients.
However, Hall acknowledges, cutting out ultra-processed food isn’t exactly simple; not everybody has the time, money, or easy access to fresh produce. “One of the reasons why ultra-processed foods are so popular is because they’re so darn convenient,” he says. “They are typically engineered to be quite tasty, they have a long shelf life, they don’t require a lot of skill or equipment to prepare, and they don’t take very much time to prepare.”
On top of all of this, dieting itself triggers changes in the body that fight against weight loss. When a person slashes their calorie intake, Tomiyama says, their body reacts as if it were enduring a famine. “Your body evolutionarily thinks, ‘Oh no, we’re in starvation mode…we have to get really efficient,’” she says. In other words: the dieter’s metabolism slows down, and they wind up burning fewer calories.
Hall and his colleagues have seen this firsthand with people who participated in the extreme weight-loss competition “The Biggest Loser.” While competing, the participants shed more than 120 pounds on average. Six years later, though, most had regained a fair amount of weight. Yet their resting metabolisms still remained sluggish. The people who’d kept the most weight off were those who’d increased their activity level by the greatest amount. In a surprising twist, though, they were also the participants whose metabolisms had slowed the most.
“It seems like in those folks, the lifestyle interventions that they had continued in order to keep the weight off were still being met by this continual resistance by the body,” Hall says.
Dieting also causes a person’s appetite to increase. “You start to notice food more, and so it’s not just your body but also your brain that’s working toward getting you to eat more whenever you start depriving your body of calories,” Tomiyama says.
She and her team have also seen that dieting is just plain stressful. People who’d reduced their calorie intake had higher levels of the stress hormone cortisol than those who hadn’t. Being stressed only makes it harder to lose weight. “One of cortisol’s jobs is to signal your body to deposit energy as fat, especially in the belly region,” Tomiyama says.
And fat-shaming just compounds the problem, she adds. “When you’re treated unfairly or experience discrimination because of your size, that’s ironically triggering these processes in your body that make you gain even more weight that’s going to put you at even more risk for fat-shaming and weight stigma,” she says.
Realistically speaking, Antinoro says, fad diets are rarely sustainable over the long haul. “We ask the question, ‘Is that doable for your lifestyle? Could you see yourself never having carbs for the rest of your foreseeable life?’” she says.
Still, it’s not surprising that diets remain entrenched in American culture.
“Socially there’s pressure to lose weight, physicians are pushing you to lose weight, and so it makes sense why people would want to do something about it,” Tomiyama says. “Everybody’s screaming at them to.”
Layered on top of this are the compliments dieters tend to receive as soon as they begin to lose weight. And with almost any fad diet, Hall says, there will be compelling success stories. For many people, though, dieting is ultimately a discouraging experience.
“I do want people to get away from that term of ‘diet,’” Antinoro says. “It implies you’re on or off, you’re good or bad, it’s black or white.” Instead, she suggests, think about health-oriented steps you can take in your daily life—even if they never change your pant size.
“It doesn’t always change the on-the-scale weight, but you’re seeing other markers that change in a healthy way,” Antinoro says. “Maybe it’s, ‘My blood pressure is better and I don’t need these three medicines,’ or, ‘I can play with my kids more and I’m not tired and am sleeping better.’”
Tomiyama recommends focusing your efforts on four key areas: stress management, getting good sleep, moving more, and adding more unprocessed foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet when possible.
“You’ll notice I’m not talking about taking away the Snickers; I’m saying get more kale and strawberries,” Tomiyama says. “As soon as you start thinking of it as depriving yourself, that’s going to set off the stress processes.”
Start small, she advises. Pick an action you can do in the space of 10 minutes, whether that means going for a quick walk, eating an apple, stretching before bed, or reading a chapter of a book to destress. “Let’s just forget about the number on the scale,” Tomiyama says. “These are things that are going to help your health regardless of the number on the scale.”
One approach that’s gaining momentum is called Health at Every Size, which is aimed at building healthy eating and exercise habits and cultivating respect for people of all weights. More studies will be needed to assess the effectiveness of HAES for different groups. However, Tomiyama says, emerging research indicates that these interventions can be beneficial for health even if—or perhaps exactly because—the focus isn’t placed on weight loss.
Changing one’s relationship with food isn’t always easy, and some aspects of what and how we eat or move or sleep aren’t entirely within our control. The COVID-19 pandemic has only underscored this reality.
“All the indicators show that our diets have become worse during the pandemic, people are engaging in less physical activity, stress levels are through the roof,” Tomiyama says. “This is such a tough time for so many people, and it’s going to be all the more important to have compassion for yourself and not get into this blame-and-shame cycle that can result from dieting.”

The Real Story of Christ's Miraculous Birth!
As a Bible scholar, I can say that this is the best example of the Birth of Jesus and he was not born in just an ole stable... He was born in a two-story, structure for the birthing and raising of young perfect lambs for Sacrifices at the Temple in Jerusalem!

No matter how many times I read this, I just cannot do it without getting chills all over!
Realizing that this is the actual real truth!
I bet you didn’t know that the following is about the manger in which Jesus was laid in.
Of course mangers are animal feeding troughs but in ancient Israel
they were made of stone - not what you would see in a modern day
nativity scene. Not comfortable, but great for protection. The building which was a stone 2 story structure! The main lower structure was where the lambs were inspected and raised so they had to be held to a higher standard!
That’s why those who were the experts in this matter, the Jewish Priests, would put
their newborn lambs in them for protection. But not just any lamb, the
unblemished perfect lambs only which were to be used in the sacrifice for sins. None of which could be blemished
Bethlehem, which is where Jesus was born and was FAMOUS for their
UNBLEMISHED LAMBS used for the sacrifice. Which were the only ones
which were blessed to become perfect unblemished lambs sacrificed at the temple in
Jerusalem! In fact they were kept in a two story
These lambs had to be perfect so they would wrap them tightly in cloth
and lie them in the manger to keep them safe. This is exactly why the
only time mangers are mentioned in Jesus’ birth story, because it was being told
by shepherds.
In Luke 2 it says
“This will be a sign for you, you will find a baby wrapped in cloth and lying in a manger.”
The shepherds would have understood this powerful parallel! THEY KNEW
what the cloth and the manger meant! This baby would be THE PERFECT LAMB
OF GOD!
The Messiah, who would sacrifice His life for the sins of the whole world.
He wasn’t just a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in a manger, He
was GOD: perfect, sinless and holy, humbling Himself to become the
